DIALGA

Dialga, along with Palkia, has been my “To Do” for a long time.  At first, I thought that Dialga was going to be difficult to make.  Once I finally sat down, he was not as difficult as I originally thought.  I have included the color lists for both Dialga and Shiny Dialga.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesis):  Blue (aqua), gray, black, light blue (light green) and red.
E Crochet Hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Floral wire

BODY:
Rd 1: With blue, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)
Rds 3-5: sc in each sc around.  (6)
Rd 6: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (9)
Rds 7-9: sc in each sc around.  (9)

Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 4: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (14)
Rd 5: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (16)
Rds 6-22; sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 23: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (12)
STUFF LEGS FIRMLY.
Rd 24: sc2tog around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 24, pull tightly and secure.  Sew LEGS to BODY.  Weave in ends.

SMALL TOES (MAKE 4):
Rw 1: With gray, ch 5, hdc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, slip st in next ch.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew SMALL TOES to LESG along straight edge going up from Rd 3.  Weave in ends.

LEG BANDS (MAKE 4):
Rw 1: With gray, ch 17, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (16)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

LARGE TOES (MAKE 8):
Rw 1: With gray, ch 9, hdc in second ch from hook, sc in next 7 ch, slip st in next ch.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew LARGE TOES to LEGS along straight edge going up from Rd 3 with 1 sc of each side of SMALL TOE attaching LEG BANDS to LEGS with sc #6 and #7 of LARGE TOES.  Weave in ends.

NOSE:
Rw 1: With gray, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, slip st in next ch.  (3)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew NOSE to HEAD.  Weave in ends.

VISOR:
Rw 1: With gray, ch 13, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 2 sc in next 2 ch, sc in next 2 ch, 2 sc in next 2 ch, sc in next 2 ch, slip st in next sc.  (15)
Finish off leaving a long tai.  Sew VISOR to HEAD just above slip st of NOSE.  Weave in ends.

EYES AND MOUTH:
Embroider EYES and MOUTH on HEAD of DIALGA.

ANTENNA (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With gray, ch 21, working over floral wire, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (20)
Rw 2: Working in side of Rw 1 and weaving floral wire in, ch 1, sc in next Rw, sc in side of foundation ch.  (2)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (3)
Rws 4-5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (3)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew NECK PLATES to NECK.  Weave in ends.

BACK FAN:
