LITTLE TIGER



LITTLE TIGER
This is the continuing series little versions of some of my other patterns.  This is the pattern for a Little Tiger or as my daughter calls him, Little Tiggy.  I hope you enjoy this.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  White, black, and orange.
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfil
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With orange, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)  Change to white
NOW WORKING IN JOINED ROUNDS
Rd 4: slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st and in next sc, change to orange, sc in next 14 sc, change to white, sc in next 2 sc, join with slip st in first sc.  (18)
Rd 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 10 sc, change to orange, sc in next sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 6: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next 12 sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 7: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next 2 sc, change to black, sc in next 8 sc, change to orange, sc in next 2 sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 8: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next 12 sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 12 sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 10: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next 12 sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 11: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 10 sc, change to orange, sc in next sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join.  (18)
Rd 12: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next 12 sc, change to white, sc in next 3 sc, join changing to orange.  (18)
Rd 13: Ch 1, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (12)
Stuff BODY at this point firmly.
Rd 14: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (9)
Rd 15: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

HEAD:
Rd 1: With orange, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rds 4-6: sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 7: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (12)
Stuff HEAD at this point firmly.
Rd 8: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (9)
Rd 9: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

MUZZLE:
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, (sc twice, change to orange, sc once, change to white, sc twice) in second ch from hook working around ch, join with slip st in first sc.  (5)
Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in next 2 sc, change to orange, 2 sc in next sc, change to white, 2 sc in next 2 sc, join.  (10)
Rd 3: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, change to orange, sc in next 2 sc, change to white, sc in next 4 sc, join.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew MUZZLE to HEAD.  Sew to HEAD matching colors.  Stuff before closing.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With white, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook.  (1)  Change to black.
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc 4 times along three edges of white sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew EARS to HEAD.

BEARD:
LEFT SIDE:
Starting at MUZZLE, attach white, sc along jawline to EAR.
RIGHT SIDE:
Starting at EAR, attach white, sc along jawline to MUZZLE.

EYES, NOSE, MOUTH, AND STRIPES ON HEAD:
Embroider eyes, nose, mouth, and stripes using picture as guidance for placement.

TAIL:
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around.  (4)  Change to orange.
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around.  (4)  Change to black.
Rd 5: sc in each sc around.  (4)  Change to orange.
Rds 6-7: sc in each sc around.  (4)  Change to black.
Rd 8: sc in each sc around.  (4)  Change to orange.
Rds 9-10: sc in each sc around.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew to BODY.

LEGS (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: With white, 7 sc in magic ring.  (7)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (14)
Rd 3: sc in each sc around.  (14)
Rd 4: sc in next 6 sc, (sc2tog) 4 times.  (10)  Change to orange.
Rd 5: sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (10)
NOW WORKING IN JOINED ROUNDS.
Rd 6: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, change to black, sc in next 5 sc, change to orange, sc in next sc, join with slip st in first sc.  (10)
Rd 7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, join.  (10)
Rd 8: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, change to black, sc in next 5 sc, change to orange, sc in next sc, join.  (10)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, join.  (10)
Stuff LEGS at this point.
Rd 10: sc2tog around.  (5)
Finish off leaving a long tail to LEGS to BODY.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew MUZZLE to HEAD matching colors.  Sew EARS on HEAD.  Follow BEARD instructions.  Embroider eyes, mouth, nose, and stripes on HEAD.  Sew HEAD to BODY.  Sew TAIL to BODY.  Sew LEGS to BODY.
