LITTLE TIANA

This is rendering of the famed Tiana character from Disney’s Princess and the Frog.  It is the continuing series of dolls depicting each of the Disney Princesses and Tinkerbell.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Café Latte, black, buff, white, hunter green and aruba sea.
Embroidery floss:  White, black, and red
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

DOLL:
Make Little Farrah doll with Café Latte skin color and with black hair and black eyebrows.

DRESS:
BODICE:
Rw 1: With aruba sea, ch 15, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (14)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (14)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, change to buff, 2 sc in next sc, change to aruba sea, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc.  (19)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 8 sc, change to buff, sc in next 4 sc, change to aruba sea, sc in next 7 sc across.  (19)
Rw 5: Ch 1, slip st in next 5 sc, ch 1, sc2tog, slip st in same st, slip st in next sc changing to buff, (ch 1, sc2tog, slip st in next sc) 3 times changing to aruba sea, ch 1, sc2tog, slip in same sc, slip st in next 5 sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew back seam closed.

SKIRT:
Rd 1: Attach aruba sea with slip st in first free loop of foundation ch of BODICE with wrong side facing, ch 1, sc in next 4 ch, (2 sc in next ch, sc in next 4 ch) twice, join with slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc) twice, join.  (18)  Change to buff.
Rd 3: Working in back loops only, ch 3 (Counts as first dc here and throughout), 2 dc in next sc, (dc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc) around, join.  (27)
Rd 4: Working in back loops only, ch 3, dc in each dc around, join.  (27)
Rds 5-8: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join.  (27)
Rd 9: Ch 3, dc in next 5 dc, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next 6 dc) around, join.  (30)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

WHITE PETALS:
Working in free loops of Round 3 and starting two sts from back seam.
Rw 1: Attach white, ch 1, sc in  next 4 ch.  (4)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (4)
Rw 9: Ch 1, turn; (sc2tog) twice.  (2)
Rw 10: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Finish off.
Repeat 8 more times overlapping the first sc of Row 1 with the last sc of Row 1 of the previous petal.

FIRST PETAL:
Skip 7 sc of Row 2.  Attach aruba sea in next sc.

With aruba sea, ch 6, sc in second ch from hook, ch 1, slip in same ch as last sc, (slip st, ch 2, hdc, ch 2, slip) in next ch, (slip st, ch 3, dc, ch 3, slip st) in next ch, (slip st, ch 2, hdc, ch 2, slip st) in next ch, (slip st, ch 1, sc, ch 1, slip st) in next ch.

ARM GLOVES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With aruba sea, ch 3, 7 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (7)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around.  (7)
Now working in rows
Rw 3: slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 6 sc.  (7)
Rws 4-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc.  (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew seam closed.

ASSEMBLY:
Place DRESS on doll and sew back seam closed.  Place ARM GLOVES on arms and sew seam closed.  Sew down all PETALS.  Attach FLOWER to DRESS.  Refer to picture for FLOWER placement and backstitching of leaves and vine.  Place CROWN on head of DOLL and secure.

Use embroidery floss to embroider face on doll.
