Love Ball


I only made this because my wife would not stop bothering me to make it.  The basic pattern for the Love Ball, I used the pattern for PokeBall done by WolfDreamer.  I then added the detail pieces of the Love Ball.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn:  Magenta, White, Black, Pink
Crochet Hook F
Fiberfil
Yarn Needle

POKEBALL:
With Magenta,
Rd 1:               6 sc in magic ring (6)
Rd 2:               2 sc in each sc around (12)
Rd 3:               sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (18)
Rd 4:               sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (24)
Rd 5:               sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (30)
Rd 6:               sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (36)
Rd 7:               sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc around (42)
Rd 8-9:            sc in each sc around, changing to black yarn in last stitch (or the join sl st if joining rounds) (42)
Rd 10-11:        sc in each sc around, changing to white yarn in last stitch (or the join sl st if joining rounds) (42)
Rd 12-13:        sc in each sc around (42)
Rd 14:             sc in next 5 sc, dec in next 2 sc around (36)
Rd 15:             sc in next 4 sc, dec in next 2 sc around (30)
Rd 16:             sc in next 3 sc, dec in next 2 sc around (24)
Begin stuffing firmly at this point, and continue stuff as you progress
Rd 17:             sc in next 2 sc, dec in next 2 sc around (18)
Rd 18:             sc in next sc, dec in next 2 sc around (12)
Rd 19:             dec in next 2 sc around (6)
F/O leaving a tail.  Add any stuffing if needed to finish the shape out.  Thread the tail through the last round and pull tightly to close.

BUTTON:
Base:
Using Black,
Rd 1:               7 sc in magic ring (7)
Rd 2:               2 sc in each sc around (14)
F/O
Top:
Using White,
Rd 1:               7 sc in magic ring (7)
F/O
Using white sew thread and sewing needle, sew the white top portion to the base piece centered evenly. 

HEART:
With Pink, ch 4
Row 1:            Sc in second ch from hook and in last 2 chs, ch 1, turn (3)
Row 2:            2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, ch 1, turn (5)
Row 3-5:         2 sc in next sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in next sc, ch 1, turn (11 in Row 5)
Row 6-8:         sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn (11)
First Side:
Row 1:            sc in next 5 sc, ch 1, turn (5)
Row 2:            dec in next 2 sc, dec in next 2 sc, ch 1, turn (2)
Row 3:            dec in next 2 sc (1)
F/O
Second Side:
Row 1:            skip next sc on Row 8 and sl st, ch 1, sc in same sc as sl st, sc in next 4 sc, ch 1, turn (5)
Row 2:            dec in next 2 sc, dec in next 2 sc, ch 1, turn (2)
Row 3:            dec in next 2 sc (1)
F/O
Edging:
Rd 1:               sl st in top of second side, sc in end of each row across, working in free loops of beginning ch, skip first ch, 3 sc in next ch, skip next ch, sc in end of each row across, sc in sc on Row 3 of First Side and sc in end of next 2 rows, sl st in skipped sc on Row 8, sc in end of next 2 rows, join with sl st to first sc.
F/O leaving a long end for sewing.
Center Strip:
With double strands of White on needle, long stitch over Rows 4-6.  F/O

ASSEMBLY:
Using white sewing thread and needle, sew the heart over Magenta part of PokeBall with bottom point touching black strip.

Using black sewing thread and needle, sew the button centered over the black strip of the pokeball.
