MANCHESTER UNITED RIBBED BEANIE HAT

This is a request from a co-worker.  This is basically an adaptation of my Ribbed Beanie Hat in red and with the Manchester United logo sewn on.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Red
H crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Size 22 Aida Cloth
Embroidery needle
Embroidery floss:  Red (321), yellow (444), and black (310)

RIBBED CUFF:
Rw 1: With red, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (12)
Rws 2-65: Working in back loops only, ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (12)
Rw 66: Holding Row 65 and free loops of foundation ch and working through both thicknesses, ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (12)

HAT:
Rd 1: Working in side of RIBBED CUFF, ch 2, dc in each row, join with slip st in first dc.  (66)
Rds 2-4: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, join.  (66)
Rd 5: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, join.  (66)
Rd 6: Ch 2, dc in next 5 dc, dc2tog, dc in next 59 dc, join.  (65)
Rd 7: Ch 2, dc in next 10 dc, dc2tog, dc in next 53 dc, join.  (64)
Rd 8: Ch 2, dc in next 15 dc, dc2tog, dc in next 47 dc, join.  (63)
Rd 9: Ch 2, dc in next 20 dc, dc2tog, dc in next 41 dc, join.  (62)  
Rd 10: Ch 2, dc in next 25 dc, dc2tog, dc in next 36 dc, join.  (61)
Rd 11: Ch 2, dc in next 30 dc, dc2tog, dc in next 29 dc, join.  (60)
Rd 12: Ch 2, (dc in next 8 dc, dc2tog) around, join.  (54)

Rd 15: Ch 2, (dc in next dc, dc2tog) twice, (dc in next 2 dc, dc2tog) 8 times, join.  (28)
Rd 16: Ch 2, dc in next dc, (dc2tog) 7 times, dc in next dc, (dc2tog) 6 times, join.  (15)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 16, pull tightly and secure.  Weave in ends.

POM-POM (OPTIONAL):
I throw this option here because a pom-pom on top of the hat would conceal the closing of the hat.  My co-worker did not want the pom-pom option on her hat.  The size of the pom-pom is up to the person making the hat.

MANCHESTER UNITED LOGO:
Use Size 22 Aida cloth, embroidery floss, and embroidery needle following the graph below to create logo.  Sew logo to HAT once finished.
