RAINBOW KITTY

My friend Kristen is obsessed with her cats. She has also created several original creators that I have had the pleasure to bring to life in plush. She requested a rainbow tie-dyed cat that was sitting with wire in the tail.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: rainbow, baby pink, white, yellow, navy blue, gold, shocking pink, pale pink, lemon, teal, amethyst, burgundy, hunter green, and black.
D crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With rainbow, 9 sc in magic ring. (9)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (27)
Rd 4: sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 3 times. (31)

MUZZLE:

Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew to BODY adding stuffing in MUZZLE before closing. Weave in ends.

EYES, NOSE, AND MOUTH:

Using lemon, yellow, gold, embroider right EYE on SITTING KITTY. Using pale pink, baby pink, shocking pink, embroider the left EYE on SITTING KITTY. Using navy blue, embroider the NOSE on MUZZLE. Using yellow, embroider the MOUTH on MUZZLE.

WHISKERS:
Fringe on WHISKERS using a variety of colors of yarn.

FRONT LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With rainbow, 7 sc in magic ring. (7)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (14)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (21)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (28)
Rds 5-7: sc in each sc around. (28)
Rd 8: sc in next 8 sc, (sc2tog) 6 times, sc in next 8 sc. (22)
Rd 9: sc in next 7 sc, (sc2tog) 4 times, sc in next 7 sc. (18)

BEGIN STUFFING FRONT LEGS FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING FRONT LEGS FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.

Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 29, pull tightly and secure. Sew FRONT LEGS to BODY. Using matching colors are the WHISKERS, embroider the paw pads on FRONT LEGS. Weave in ends.

HIND LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With rainbow, ch 15, sc in second ch from hook sc in next 12 ch, 3 sc in last ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 12 ch, 2 sc in next ch. (30)
Rd 2: (sc in next 14 sc, 3 sc in next sc) twice. (34)
Rd 3: sc in next 15 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 16 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next sc. (38)
Rds 4-6: sc in each sc around. (38)
Rd 7: (sc2tog) 5 times, sc in next 15 sc, (sc2tog) 6 times, sc in next sc. (27)
Rd 8: Holding right side together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 9 sc, turn LEG inside out, 2 sc in each remaining sc of Rd 7, slip st in first sc after turning inside out. (18)

Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 20, pull tightly and secure. Flatten upper part of HIND LEGS and sew to BODY. Using matching colors of FRONT LEGS, embroider paw pads on HIND LEGS. Weave in ends.


TAIL:
Rd 1: With rainbow, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (8)
BEGIN STUFFING TAIL FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING TAIL FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.
OPTIONAL: INSERT FLORAL WIRE.

Rds 3-40: sc in each sc around. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew TAIL to BODY. Weave in ends.

EARS (MAKE 2):
INNER EAR (MAKE 2):

Rw 1: With pale pink, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook. (2)

Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap BOW CENTER around BOW BODY and BOW STRAP and sew together. Tack stitch BOW CENTER to BOW STRAP. Wrap BOW STRAP around neck of BODY and sew together. Weave in ends.
