MINI BRONTOSAURUS

This is a miniature version of a brontosaurus that I made for my wife a few years ago. She asked me to make this little guy and many others to be used as party favors at her birthday party this year. This mini brontosaurus can be made in any color.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Any color
D crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
1 set of 6mm black safety eyes

BODY:
Rd 1: With any color, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rds 5-12: sc in each sc around. (24)
Rd 13: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (18)
Rd 14: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
BEGIN STUFFING BODY FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING BODY FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.
Rd 15: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around. (10)
Rd 16: sc in each sc around. (10)
Rd 17: sc2tog, sc in next 8 sc. (9)
Rd 18: sc in each sc around. (9)
Rd 19: sc2tog, sc in next 7 sc. (8)
Rd 20: sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 21: sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc. (7)
Rd 22: sc in each sc around. (7)
Rd 23: sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc. (6)
Rd 24: sc in each sc around. (6)
Rd 25: sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc. (5)
Rd 26: sc in each sc around. (5)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 26, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

HEAD:
Rd 1: With any color, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rds 5-11: sc in each sc around. (24)
INSERT SAFETY EYES BETWEEN RDS 6 AND 7 ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE HEAD.
Rd 12: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (18)
Rd 13: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF HEAD FIRMLY.
Rd 14: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 14, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

NECK:
Rd 1: Attach any color to center of Rd 11 of HEAD, working in a circle, sc 15 times in HEAD.
Rds 2-4: sc in each sc around. (15)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew NECK to BODY stuffing before closing. Weave in ends.

LEGS (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: With any color, 5 sc in magic ring. (5)
Rds 2-5: sc in each sc around. (5)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Stuff LEGS firmly. Sew LEGS to BODY. Weave in ends.
