KYOGRE

This is the next in the list of Pokemon ordered by an Etsy customer.  I am a little surprise that it took this long since he ordered Groudon about two months ago.  Kyogre is one of many that have been expecting from this customer.  The others are Ho-oh, Rayquaza, Reshiram, and Kyurem.  This pattern includes the color lists for both Kyogre and Shiny Kyogre.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesis):  Blue (Lavender), red, white, black, and yellow.
B and E Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With blue, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rds 5-6: sc in each sc around.  (24)
Rd 7: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)

EYES (MAKE 2):

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EYES to CHIN.

CHIN EDGING:
Using red, sc evenly around CHIN and EYES.  Sew CHIN and EYES to BODY.  Using black and using French knot, embroider pupil on each EYE.

CHIN FINS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With white, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across.  (4)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew CHIN FINS to CHIN.

DORSEL FINS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With blue, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (3)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (4)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (5)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc.  (6)
Rws 6-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (6)  Change to red after Rw 7.
Rw 8: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, working in side of rows, sc in next 6 rows, 2 sc in free loop of foundation ch.
Finish off.   Weave in ends.  Sew DORSEL FINS to BODY.

BELLY MARKINGS:
With red, embroider markings on BODY.  These markings will wrap around BODY connecting the DORSEL FINS.

BELLY STRIPES (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With white, ch 16, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (15)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BELLY STRIPES to BODY.

LARGE BODY SPOTS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 7, 2 sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next 4 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, hdc in next 4 ch, sc in next ch.  (14)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew LARGE BODY SPOTS to BODY.

SMALL BODY SPOTS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 5, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew SMALL BODY SPOTS to BODY.

FINGERS (MAKE 8):
Rd 1: With white, ch 5, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch.  (10)
Rds 2-6: sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew FINGERS to WINGS.

TAIL BODY (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With blue, ch 18, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (17)
Rws 2-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (17)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew TAIL BODY to BODY.

TAIL FEATHERS (MAKE 4):
Rw 1: With blue, ch 6, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (5)
Rws 2-14: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (5)
TAIL POINT 1:
Rw 15: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (2)
Rws 16-18: Ch 1, turn; sc n each sc across.  (2)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
TAIL POINT 2:
Rw 15: Working in unworked sc of Rw 15, skip next sc, attach blue in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next sc.  (2)
