GIRAFARIG

As I have said in several previous posts, my wife is crazy about giraffes.  When she found out that there was a Pokemon that looks like a giraffe, she requested me to make Girafarig for her.  This is pattern for Girafarig that I came up with.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn:  Yellow, coffee brown, gray, pink, and white
F crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Yarn Needle
White, yellow,  and black craft felt

BODY:
Rd 1: With coffee brown, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (36)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (42)
Rd 8: Slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 38 sc.  (39)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 39 sc, ch 3, slip st in first sc.  (39, 1 ch-3 sp)
Rd 10: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 ch, sc in next 39 sc.  (42)
Rds 11-16: sc in each sc around.  (42)  Change to yellow.

SHAPE FRONT:
MAKE SURE THAT THE UNWORKED SC OF RD 23 IS CENTERED.
Rw 1: Attach yellow, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 14 sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 15 sc.  (32)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (32)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 14 sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 14 sc.  (30)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (30)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 13 sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 13 sc.  (28)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (28)
Rw 7: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 12 sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 12 sc.  (26)
Rw 8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (26)

GIRAFFE NECK:
Rd 1: Attachment yellow in first skipped sc of Rd 23, sc in each skipped sc of Rd 23, sc in side of each row of front shaping.  (26)

Rd 3: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (20)
Rds 4-10: sc in each sc around.  (20)

Finish off.  Stuff GIRAFFE NECK firmly.

Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around.  (10)

Finish off.  Stuff SNAKE NECK firmly.

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 5, pull tightly and secure.  Sew OSSICONES to GIRAFFE HEAD.

FRONT LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gray, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rds 4-6: sc in each sc around.  (12)  Change to yellow.
Rds 7-22: sc in each sc around.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Stuff FRONT LEGS firmly.  Sew FRONT LEGS to BODY.

HIND LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gray, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)

Rd 3: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around.  (12)

Finish off leaving along tail.  Sew LARGE SPOTS to BODY.

SMALL SPOTS (MAKE 2 IN YELLOW, 2 IN COFFEE BROWN):
Rd 1: 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew SMALL SPOTS to BODY.

MAIN:
Rw 1: With pink, ch 38, sc in second ch from hook, (skip next ch, dc in next ch, ch 1, tr in next ch, ch 1, dc in next ch, ch 1, skip next ch, sc in next ch) 6 times.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew MAIN to GIRAFARIG.

GIRAFFE EYES (MAKE 2):
Use white and black craft felt to create GIRAFFE EYES.  Glue to GIRAFFE HEAD.

SNAKE EYES (MAKE 2):
Use yellow and black craft felt to create SNAKE EYES.  Glue to SNAKE HEAD.

SNAKE MOUTH:
Use white craft felt to create SNAKE MOUTH.  Glue to SNAKE MOUTH.
