CASTIEL DOLL

My wife is a HUGE fan of the show “Supernatural.”  Her favorite character is Castiel.  This is a doll inspired by Castiel.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Black, white, buff, warm brown, and delft blue
F crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
1 set of 12mm safety eyes

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With buff, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around.  (15)  Change to black in last sc of Rd 5.
Rds 6-15: sc in each sc around.  (15)
Finish off.  Stuff ARMS firmly.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rds 4-15: sc in each sc around.  (15)
Finish off on first leg.  DO NOT FINISH OFF ON SECOND LEG.  Stuff LEGS firmly.

BODY:
CONITNUE ON SECOND LEG.
Rd 1: sc in next 15 sc on SECOND LEG, sc in next 15 sc of FIRST LEG.  (30)
Rds 2-7: sc in each sc around.  (30)
Rd 8: slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 13 sc, change to white, sc in next 6 sc, change to black, sc in next 10 sc, join with slip st in first sc.  (30)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 10 sc, change to white, sc in next 6 sc, change to black, sc in next 14 sc, join.  (30)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.

HEAD:
Rd 1: Working in back loops only on Rd 18 of BODY and starting in center sc of back of BODY, attach buff, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)

Rd 3: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (36)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Add more stuffing to get desired shape.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 19, pull tightly, and secure.  Weave in ends.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With buff, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) twice, 2 sc in next sc.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EARS to HEAD.

JACKET:
Rw 1: With warm brown, ch 37, sc in second ch from hook and each ch across.  (36)
Rws 2-24: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (36)
Rw 25: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, slip st in next 7 sc, sc in next 16 sc, slip st in next 7 sc, sc in next 3 sc.
Rw 26: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, ch 7, skip next 7 sts, sc in next 16 sc, ch 7, skip next 7 sts, sc in next 3 sc.

SLEEVES:
Rd 1: Working in center slip st of UNDERARM, attach warm brown, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in side of Rw 25, sc in side of Rw 26, sc in free loops of ch-7, sc in side of Rw 26, 2 sc in side of Rw 25, sc in next 3 sc of UNDERARM .  (20)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Repeat in second armhole.

COLLAR OF JACKET:
Rw 1: Attach warm brown in side of Rw 19 of JACKET with slip st, working in side of Rws 20-27, slip st in next 2 Rws, sc in next 3 Rws, hdc in next 3 Rws, hdc in each sc of top of JACKET, working in side of Rws 27-19, hdc in next 3 Rws, sc in next 3 Rws, slip st in next 3 Rws.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Use tail to tack down COLLAR.  Weave in ends.

BELT:
Rw 1: With warm brown, ch 51, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (50)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Sew BELT to JACKET.

TIE:
Rw 1: With delft blue, ch 51, slip st in second ch from hook, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next 8 ch, slip st in next 39 ch.  (50)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Wrap TIE around neck of CASTIEL.  Tie knot.  Leave a little loose.

WINGS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 25, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next 3 ch, dc in next 20 ch.  (24)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 18 sc.  (18)
Rw 3: Ch 7, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next 5 ch, hdc in next 2 sc, sc in next 16 sc.  (24)

Use black yarn to embroider the EYEBROWS and MOUTH on HEAD of doll.

HAIR:
Using coffee brown yarn, fringe pieces on HEAD.  Use comb to create desired hairstyle.  Optional:  Can use hairspray if needed to create desired hairstyle.
