A co-worker saw the wrist rattlesnake that I had made. He asked me if I could make a wrist rattle with Minecraft Steve’s head on it. Of course, I said yes. Here is the pattern for the wrist rattle with Minecraft Steve in mind.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Turqua, coffee brown, café latte, warm brown, royal blue, delft blue, and white.
E Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
2 ½ inch piece of Velcro
Small jingle bell
STEVE’S HEAD:
HEAD BOTTOM:
Rw 1: With warm brown, ch 9, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (8)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (8)
Finish off.
HEAD FRONT:
Rw 1: With warm brown, ch 9, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, change to café latte, sc in next 4 ch, change to warm brown, sc in next 2 ch. (8)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, change to chocolate brown, sc in next sc, change to warm brown, sc in next 2 sc, change to chocolate brown, sc in next sc, change to warm brown, sc in next 2 sc. (8)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to café latte, sc in next 2 sc, change to warm brown, sc in next 3 sc. (8)

Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, change to warm brown, sc in next 3 sc. (8) Change to chocolate brown.
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, change to warm brown, sc in next 2 sc, change to chocolate brown, sc in next 5 sc. (8)
Rws 5-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (8)
Finish off.
HEAD RIGHT SIDE:
Rw 1: With warm brown, ch 9, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (8) Change to chocolate brown.
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc, change to warm brown, sc in next 4 sc. (8)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to chocolate brown, sc in next 5 sc. (8)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, change to warm brown, sc in next 2 sc, change to chocolate brown, sc in next sc. (8)

Finish off.
HEAD BACK:
Rw 1: With warm brown, ch 9, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (8) Change to chocolate brown.

Finish off.
HEAD TOP:
Rw 1: With chocolate brown, ch 1, sc in second from hook and in each sc across. (8)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (8)
Finish off.
HEAD ASSEMBLY:
Sew HEAD FRONT, HEAD SIDES, and HEAD BACK to HEAD BOTTOM. Matching colors, sew side seam together. Stuff HEAD firmly. Sew HEAD TOP on HEAD adding any stuffing needed to finish shape before closing. Weave in ends.
WRIST STRAP (MAKE 2 – 1 IN TURQUA, 1 IN DELFT BLUE):
Rw 1: Ch 7, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (6)
Rw 2-40: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (6)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Sew Velcro to each side of strap. Set aside for now.
RATTLE ASSEMBLY:
• Attach center of BOTTOM OF HEAD to Row 5 of turqua STRAP. Using turqua, sew STRAP pieces together.
• Sew HEAD pieces to BOTTOM OF HEAD.
• Add stuffing and jingle bell to HEAD before closing.
