MERMAID--MIRACLE FROM HEAVEN

My friend Allison went and watched the movie “Miracle from Heaven” in theaters.  She fell in love with a mermaid doll that the little girl in the movie had.  She asked if I could make one similar by using a printed picture of the mermaid.  This is my attempt at making that mermaid.  The hair on the mermaid is fringed pieces of various shapes of green randomly attached.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Soft white, menthe, and medium thyme
Small amounts of various shades of green for hair
E Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
1 set of 12mm black safety eyes

Rd 1: With soft white, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)

  1. Love this! Making it for my niece who has been in and out of the hospital. Thanks so much for sharing. Can you share how to "fringe on" the hair?

    1. I started at top of head and worked down back of head fringing on a different shade of green over each sc. I stopped when the hair was desired thicknesses.
