My wife is crazy for the minions from the Despicable Me movie. This obsession got worse when Dreamworks released Despicable Me 2 that had purple minions in it. This is a pattern for an extra large version of my Yellow Minion pattern. I did this as a request from a co-worker. I also have a pattern for an extra large Evil Purple Minion.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Black, yellow, delft blue, gray, red and white
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
BODY:
Rd 1: With yellow, 9 sc in magic ring. (9)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (27)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (45)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (54)
Rds 7-54: sc in each sc around. (54)
Rd 55: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around. (45)
Rd 56: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around. (36)
Rd 57: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (27)

STUFF BODY AT THIS POINT FIRMLY.

LENSES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, 9 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc. (9) Change to white.
Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (18)
Rd 3: Ch 1, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, join. (27) Change to gray.
Rd 3: Working in back loops only, ch 1, sc in each sc around. (27)
Finish off. Sew two LENSES together.
STRAP:
Rw 1: With black, ch 43, sc in second ch from hook and in each sc across. (42)
Rws 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (42)
Finish off. Sew each end of STRAP to LENSES.
Place GOGGLES on MINION.
ONE-EYED MINION:
LENS:
Rd 1: With black, 9 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around. (16) Change to white.
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip in first sc. (24)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, join. (32)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, join. (40) Change to gray.
Rd 4: Working in back loops only, ch 1, sc in each sc around. (40)

Finish off. Weave in ends.
RIGHT:
Attach delft blue with slip st in last sc of BACK OF OVERALLS, ch 10, slip st in first sc of Row 21 of FRONT OF OVERALLS, slip st in next 2 sc, ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 10 ch, sc in next 3 sc.
Finish off. Weave in ends.
LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, 5 sc in magic ring. (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (20)
Rd 5: (sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (22)
Rds 6-8: sc in each sc around. (22) Change to delft blue.

Finish off leaving a long tail to sew LEGS on OVERALLS. Sew LEGS to OVERALLS stuffing before closing.
