JACK SKELLINGTON

Jack Skellington is the first in a series of dolls based on the characters from Disney’s Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. Some of the characters will be easier than others.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: White and black.
D Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
Floral wire
Black crochet cotton

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: sc in next 2 sc, (ch 5, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next 3 ch, slip st in next sc) 4 times.
Rd 3: sc in next 2 sc, sc over next 4 slip st working behind “fingers”. (6)
Rd 4: sc in each sc around. (6) Change to black.
BEGIN STUFFING ARMS FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING ARMS FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.
Rds 5-23: sc in each sc around. (6)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

COATTAILS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 6, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next 4 ch. (5)
Rw 2: Ch 7, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next ch, sc in next 4 ch. (6)
Rw 3: Ch 6, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next 4 ch. (5)
Rw 4: Ch 1, working across straight edge of Rws 1-3, sc 4 times. (4)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (4)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc. (3)

NOSTRILS AND MOUTH:

Using black crochet cotton, embroider NOSTRILS and MOUTH on head of JACK SKELLINGTON.

SHIRT:
Rw 1: With white, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc. (2)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc. (3)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc. (4)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc. (5)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc. (6)
Rw 7: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc. (7)
Rws 8-10: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail.

RIGHT COLLAR:

LEFT COLLAR:
Rw 1: With black, ch 15, holding second ch from hook and foundation ch of SHIRT together and working through both thicknesses, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, hdc in next 11 ch.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew SHIRT and COLLARS to BODY. Weave in ends.

TIE:
Rw 1: With black, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc. (2)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next 2 sc. (4)
Rw 4: Ch 3, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, skip next sc, sc in next 2 sc, ch 3, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, slip st in next sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Using white, embroider the eyes on TIE. Sew TIE over top edge of SHIRT. Weave in ends.

TIE WINGS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 6, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next 4 ch. (5)
Rw 2: Ch 7, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next 5 ch. (6)
Rw 3: Ch 6, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next 4 ch. (5)
