RUBY GLOOM


This is a request from a customer on Etsy.  This customer requested Ruby Gloom and Misery from a Canadian Flash-animated television series on the Mighty Fine apparel line of the same name created by cartoonist Martin Hsu.  This is the pattern for Ruby Gloom.  Misery will be coming soon. 

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn—white, black, red, golden yellow,
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      With white, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2:      sc in each sc around.  (9)
Rd 3:      3 sc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc.  (11)
Rd 4:      sc3tog, sc in next 8 sc.  (9)
Rd 5:      (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Rd 6:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (9)
Rds 7-19:              sc in each sc around.  (9)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Stuff ARMS firmly.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      With gold, ch 6, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch, 2 sc in next ch, slip st in first sc.  (12)
Rd 2:      Ch 1, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, slip st in first sc changing to red.  (18)
Rd 3:      Ch 1, sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (18)
Rd 4:      Ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, (sc2tog) 3 times, sc in next 7 sc, slip st in first sc changing to gold.  (15)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew to side of head of BODY.

HAIR:
With red, fringe 2 pieces of desired lengths starting at top and working down back of head to ear line.  Separate plies to get realistic look of hair.

Embroider FACE on RUBY GLOOM.
