NIKE KOBE 9 ELITE LAKERS

This has been a concept that I have been thinking about doing ever since I created my Kansas City Chiefs version of the Nike Jordan 1 slippers.  Of course, I was wanting to use this item to show my fandom for the Los Angeles Lakers.  I knew that I would not be able to do that properly by making a pair of Nike Jordan 1s.  That is why I decided to fashion these slippers to look like a pair Nike Kobe 9 Elites.  Any time “amethyst mix” is referenced in the pattern that is where I incorporated the yellow crochet cotton with the amethyst yarn.

MATERIALS:

Worsted Weight yarn:    Amethyst, grape, black, white, and golden yellow.
H crochet hook (adjust to change size of the slippers)
1 pair of Los Angeles Lakers’ shoe laces (54 inches)
Tapestry needle
Aida cloth size 22
Embroidery needle

Use Aida cloth and embroidery floss to create logo.  Sew logo to INSTEP.

INSTEP ATTACHMENT:

Mark the second and third (sc2tog) of the last Rd of SIDES.  Change to amethyst mix once you reach amethyst mix section of HIGH TOP and back to grape in corresponding Rw on other side of HIGH TOP.   
Rw 1:     Starting in side of Rw 18, holding side of Rw 18 and side of Rw 1 of INSTEP together and working through both thicknesses, attach grape, ch 2, dc in same Rw as attachment, dc in next 17 Rws of right side of HIGH TOP and next 22 Rws of INSTEP together, sc in next 22 sc of SHOE SIDES, dc in next 18 Rws of left side of HIGH TOP and next 23 Rws of INSTEP together.
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

LACES:

Weave in end LACES through the section of dc of INSTEP attachment.
