SAMURAI PANGORO

This is an adaptation of my Pangoro pattern.  He is dressed in a traditional Japanese warrior outfit.  This was a request from my Pokemon-obsessed Etsy customer.  He has been lately having me making plush based on drawings he has done.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn:  Greybeard, café latte, white, black, red, buff, gray, charcoal, and burgundy.
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Yarn Needle
Green chenille stem

TOE NAILS (MAKE 6):
Rd 1: With charcoal, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around.  (4)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

FEET (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With burgundy, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next 3 sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (24)
Rd 5: sc in next 7 sc, holding next sc on FEET together with first sc on TOE NAILS and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 2 sc, (sc in next 2 sc on FEET, holding next sc on FEET together with first sc on TOE NAILS and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 2 sc) twice, sc in next 7 sc on FEET.
Rd 6: sc in next 7 sc, sc in next 2 sc on TOE NAILS, (sc in next 2 sc on FEET, sc in next 2 sc on TOE NAILS) twice, sc in next 7 sc on FEET.  (24)
Rd 7: sc in next 3 sc, (sc2tog) 3 times, sc in next 6 sc, (sc2tog) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc.  (18)
Finish off.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: Working in front loops only, attach café latte in first sc, (ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, skip next sc of Rd 7 of FEET, slip st in next sc) 9 times.  Change to greybeard.
Rd 2: working in both loops of Rd 7 of FEET, sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rds 3-15: sc in each sc around.  (18)
PLACE MARKER AROUND SC #2 ON RIGHT LEG AND SC #10 ON LEFT LEG.
Finish off.  Weave in end.  Stuff LEGS firmly.

BODY:
Rd 1: With greybeard, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 3: sc in next 2 sc, holding next sc on BODY and marked sc on RIGHT LEG together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 5 sc on BODY, holding next sc on BODY and marked sc on LEFT LEG together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 3 sc on BODY.
Rd 4: sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 15 sc on RIGHT LEG, sc in next 5 sc on BODY, sc in next 15 sc on LEFT LEG, sc in next 3 sc on BODY.  (40)

STUFF BODY FIRMLY.

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 37, pull tightly and secure.  Weave in ends.

MUZZLE:
Rd 1: With white, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 3: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rd 4: sc in each sc around.  (20)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew MUZZLE to BODY adding stuffing before closing.

MOUTH, NOSE, AND EYES:
Embroider MOUTH, NOSE, and EYES on PANGORO.

BRANCH AND LEAVES:
Use brown and green chenille stems to make BRANCH and LEAVES.  Attach BRANCH AND LEAVES to MOUTH.

MOHAWK:
Rw 1: With white, ch 16, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, (dc, ch 2, slip st) in next ch, [slip st in next ch, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, (dc, ch 2, slip st) in next ch) twice.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew MOHAWK to BODY.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With greybeard, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EARS to BODY.

HAT:
Rd 1: With buff, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (36)

ARMS (MAKE 2):

Rds 2-3: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (20)
Rd 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to gray. (20)
Rd 5: Working in front loops only, ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (20)
Rd 6: sc in each sc around.  (20)
Rd 7: Holding next sc of ARMS and first sc of HANDS together and working through both thicknesses, (sc in next 4 sc, sc in next sc of ARMS and previous sc of HANDS) around.  (20)

Rw 1: with right side facing, attach gray in side of JACKET TOP EDGING, ch 1, 2 sc in side of JACKET TOP EDGING, working in free loops of foundation ch of JACKET TOP, sc in each ch across, 2 sc in side of JACKET TOP EDGING.  (68)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (68)
Rd 3: Overlap 8 sc of left side of ROBE and 12 sc of right side of ROBE and working through both thicknesses, ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (60)
Rd 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (60)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

JACKET FRONT TAIL:
Rw 1: Attach gray 10 sc before overlap section in front of JACKET BOTTOM, ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next 24 sc, sc2tog.  (26)

BOTTOM JACKET EDGING:
Rd 1: Attach charcoal, ch 1, sc evenly around edge of bottom of JACKET TAILS with 3 sc in corners, slip st in first sc.
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
Place JACKET on SAMURAI PANGORO.  Tack stitch to SAMURAI PANGORO.

CUMBERBUN:
Rw 1: With charcoal, ch 65, sc in second ch from hook and in each sc across.  (64)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (64)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Wrap CUMBERBUN around SAMURAI PANGORO.  Sew ends together.  Weave in ends.

ARMBAND:
Rw 1: With charcoal, ch 21, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (20)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in ach sc across.  (20)
Finish off leaving a long tail.

ARMBAND CREST:
Rw 1: With red, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (4)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (4)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc2tog.  (2)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
EDGING: Attach white, ch 1, sc evenly around outside edge of ARMBAND CREST with 3 sc in each corner and point and 2 sc in each bend, slip st in first sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew ARMBAND CREST to ARMBAND.  Wrap ARMBAND around upper left arm and sew together.  Weave in ends.
