JESSIE


This is rendering of the famed Jessie that was introduced in Toy Story 2.  Jessie was a request from the same co-worker that asked me to make Sheriff Woody.  She has informed me that she will probably be wanting the others in the Toy Story franchise.  They will come soon.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:   Delft blue, white, black, café latte, green, gray, yellow, gold, orange, buff, and red.
E & 6 crochet hook
Gold embroidery floss or crochet cotton
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

HANDS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With buff, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (8)
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 5: Ch 4, sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 6: sc in each ch and sc around. (12)
Rd 7: Skip next 4 sc, sc in next 8 sc.  (8)
Rd 8: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Rd 9: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (8)
CUFF:
Rd 10: slip st in next sc change to yellow, working in front loops only, (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (10)
Rds 11-13: sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Fold CUFFS forward.
ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 10: Working in back loops of Rd 9 and working behind CUFFS, attach white with slip st in same sc as slip st, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 7 sc.  (8)
Rds 11-18: sc in each sc around.  (8)
STUFF LOWER ARM FIRMLY.  FOLD CUFFS BACK OVER ARMS.
Rd 19: Pinch the arm, ch 1, working though both thicknesses, sc in next 4 sc.  (4)
Rd 20: Working in front loops only, ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, now working in back loops only, sc in next 4 sc.  (8)
Rds 21-28: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Finish off.  Stuff upper arm firmly.  Attach 5 white tassles to CUFFS.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With delft blue, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Rds 2-4: sc in each sc around.  (8)

SPUR STRAPS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gold embroidery floss or crochet cotton and size 6 hook, ch 11, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew SPUR STRAPS to back of BOOTS.

CHAPS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 13, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, change to white, sc in next 9 ch, change to black, sc in next ch.  (12)  Change to white.
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc, change to white, sc in next 4 sc, change to black, sc in next 1 sc.  (12)  Change to white.

HAttachment to legs and straps:  Weave tail down 6 sc, place CHAPS on LEG, (insert needle in matching st on other side of CHAPS, pull tight, insert needle in same sc beginning of straps, secure), weave down to Rw 10, sew side of CHAPS to side of Rd 24 of LEGS, weave down to Rw 5, (insert needle in matching st on other side of CHAPS, pull tight over BOOTS, insert needle in same sc as beginning of straps, insert in matching st on other side again, secure), weave up to Rw 10, sew CHAPS  to other side of Rd 24 of LEGS.  Finish off and weave in ends.
Tassles:  Attach 5 small tassles to ouside edge of bottom section of CHAPS starting at sc used for strap and working down.

BODY:
Rd 1: Working in front loops only SECOND LEG - THIS WILL BE THE RIGHT LEG OF DOLL, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, now working in back loops only of SECOND LEG and Rw 22 of CHAPS, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, working in front loops only of FIRST LEG – THIS WILL BE THE LEFT LEG OF DOLL and Rw 22 of CHAPS, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, now working in back loops only, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (20)

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With buff, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch.  (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew EARS to BODY.

NOSE:
Rw 1: With buff, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch.  (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew NOSE to BODY.

SHIRT BUTTONS:
With white, embroider two white buttons on Jesse’s shirt.  With gray, embroider gray borders on the white buttons.

HAIR:
Using red, ch 6, finish off leaving a long tail.   Fringe 2 strands of red yarn on each side of each ch.  Starting at forehead and working over head, sew ch-6 to head.  Pull hair back and braid into a ponytail.  Use a piece of yellow to tie a bow at end of ponytail.

BELT:
Rw 1: With café latte, ch 33, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (32)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew ends of BELT together.  Weave in ends.

BELT BUCKLE:
Rd 1: With gold embroidery floss or crochet cotton and size 6 hook, ch 3, 2 sc in second ch from hook, 4 sc in next ch working around ch, 2 sc in free loops of first ch.  (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (16)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BELT BUCKLE to BELT.

FACE:
Embroider eyes, eyebrows, and mouth on head of doll.  Eyes will have green accents.

HAT:
Rd 1: With red, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)

Rd 6: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around.  (25)
