METAL MAN

This is a pattern for the character known as Metal Man depicted in many video games developed by Capcom for various Nintendo game systems.  I made this doll as a request by a co-worker to go along with the Mega Man and Mega Man X dolls that I had made her son.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Red, royal, yellow, gray, buff, and red.
F crochet hook
Felt:  White and red
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Velcro
Glue
Piece of cardboard cut to match bottom of Legs

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With yellow, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Rd 2: [2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next sc, sc in next sc] twice.  (12, 2 ch-3 sp)

KNEE GUARDS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook, slip st in first sc to join changing to gray.  (4)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew KNEE GUARDS over red section of LEGS.

FINGERS (MAKE 10):
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook.  (4)
Rds 2-5: sc in each sc around.  (4)
Finish off on all but two FINGERS.  Set 2 FINGERS for thumbs.  When finishing Rd 5 of FINGERS #9 and #10, continue with HANDS AND ARMS.

RIGHT HAND:
Rd 1: sc in next 2 sc on FINGER on hook, (sc in next 2 sc on next FINGER) twice, sc in next 4 sc on next FINGER, (sc in next 2 sc of previous FINGER) twice, sc in next 2 sc of first FINGER.  (16)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 4: sc in next 4 sc of FINGR set aside for thumb, sc in next 16 of HAND.  (20)

Use white and red felt to make EYES.  Glue together and then to HEAD.
