DRESS FOR CHARLOTTE CHIMP

I was asked by a friend at work to create a Dress for the monkey that I was making her.  This is the pattern for that Dress.  I made it with Amethyst yarn for Red Heart.  It can be made in any color that you desire.  I also fringed 2 24” pieces of Warm Brown yarn along Rd 9 of Head of monkey from EAR to EAR.

G crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Sewing needle
Sewing thread in matching color of yarn
Velcro

ONESIE

Rw 1:   Starting at neckline, Ch 35, sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across.  (34)
Rw 2:   Working this row in front loops only, ch 2 (Counts as first dc here and throughout), turn; dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next 6 sts, dc in next 12 sts, 2 dc in next 6 sts, dc in next 5 sts.  (46)
Rw 3:   Ch 3, turn; dc in same st, dc in next 4 sts, (for armhole, ch 10, skip next 12 sts); dc in next 12 sts, repeat between ( ), dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st.  (24, 2 ch-20 spaces)
Rw 4:   Ch 3, turn; dc in each st and ch across.  (44)
Rw 5:   Ch 3, turn; dc in next 12 sts, (2dc in next st, dc in next st) 9 times, dc in next 13 dc.  (53)
Rw 6:   Ch 3, turn; dc in each st across.  (53)
Now working in joined rounds.
Rd 7:   Ch 3, turn; dc in each st across, slip st in first dc.  (53)
Rds 8-14:        Ch 3, dc in each st around, join.  (53)
Rd 15: Working in back loops only, sc in each st around, join.  (53)
Sew Velcro on back of DRESS.
