MAN'S HEAD CHRISTMAS BALL ORNAMENT

This is an adaptation of my Christmas Ball Ornaments pattern to make them look like the heads of a man’s head.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn: light peach, white, café latte, coffee, blue, and green.
D crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfill
Tapestry needle
Glue

BALL:
Rd 1: With coffee, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (42)
Rd 8: Ch 1, sc in next 11 sc, change to light peach, sc in next 21 sc, change to coffee, sc in next 10 sc, slip st in first sc. (42)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 10 sc, change to light peach, sc in next 21 sc, change to coffee, sc in next 11 sc, slip st in first sc. (42)
Rd 10: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 11 sc, change to light peach, sc in next 21 sc, change to coffee, sc in next 10 sc, slip st in first sc. (42)
Rd 11: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 10 sc, change to light peach, sc in next 21 sc, change to coffee, sc in next 11 sc, slip st in first sc. (42)
Rd 12: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 11 sc, change to light peach, sc in next 21 sc, change to coffee, sc in next 10 sc, slip st in first sc. (42)
Rd 13: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 10 sc, change to light peach, sc in next 21 sc, change to coffee, sc in next 11 sc, slip st in first sc. (42)
Rd 14: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 11 sc, change to light peach, sc in next 21 sc, change to coffee, sc in next 10 sc, slip st in first sc changing to light peach. (42)
Rd 15: Ch 1, (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around. (36)
Rd 16: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around. (30)
Rd 17: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around. (24)
Rd 18: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (18)
Rd 19: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF BALL FIRMLY.
Rd 20: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 20, pull tightly and secure.

HANGER:
Using coffee, slip st in center of Rd 1 of BALL BODY, ch 20, slip st in center of Rd 1 again. Finish off. Weave in ends.

SIDEBURNS, MUSTACHE AND BEARD (COMPLETE SIDEBURNS ON BOTH SIDE OF HEAD):
Rw 1: Working over sc of Rw 8 with 2 sc between SIDEBURN and UNDERHAIR section of HEAD, attach coffee, ch 1, sc in next 2 sc. (2)
Rws 2-5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (2)
Rw 6: sc in next 2 sc.
With first SIDEBURN, continue with MUSTACHE. With second SIDEBURN, continue with BEARD.
MUSTACHE:
Rw 1: sc over next 3 sc of Rd 13, hdc over next 8 sc of Rd 12, sc over next 3 sc of Rd 13.
Finish off. Weave in ends.
BEARD:
Rw 1: sc in next 3 sc of MUSTACHE, hdc over next 8 sc of Rw 15, sc in next 3 sc of MUSTACHE.
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; hdc in next 4 sts, dc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 4 sts. (14)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc3tog, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc3tog. (10)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc3tog, hdc in next 4 sts, sc3tog. (6)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog. (4)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc2tog. (2)
Rw 7: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog. (1)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

HAIR:
Fringe pieces of coffee to MAN’S HEAD CHRISTMAS BALL ORNAMENT. Glue HAIR to BALL.

EYES AND MOUTH:
Using blue, embroider EYES on BALL. Using light peach, embroider MOUTH on BALL.
