#251 CELEBI

This was a request from a customer in the Crochet Fanatic shop. The customer requested the shiny version of Celebi. This also means that I had to make a Celebi and Shiny Celebi for my daughters because they have been on their “To Go” list that they have been putting together since Pokemon Go was originally released. This pattern includes the color list for Celebi and Shiny Celebi.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesis): Frosty green (pale pink), aqua (Spring green), leaf green (hot pink), black, and white.
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Floral wire (optional)

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With frosty green, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch. (2)
Rw 2: Ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (3)
Rw 3: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (2)
Rw 4: Ch 1, working across the straight edge of Rws 1-3, sc evenly across. (4)
Rd 5: Ch 1, turn; working in back loops only, sc in next 4 sc, working in front loops only, sc in next 4 sc. (8)
Rds 6-14: sc in each sc around. (8)
STUFF ARMS FIRMLY.
Rd 15: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (6)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

FEET (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With leaf green, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (16)
Rds 3-10: sc in each sc around. (16)
STUFF FEET FIRMLY.
Rd 11: sc2tog around. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 11, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With leaf green, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rds 2-5: sc in each sc around. (6)
Finish off. Sew closed end to FEET. Weave in ends. Stuff LEGS firmly.

BODY:
Rd 1: With leaf green, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next sc, holding next sc on BODY and sc #6 on LEG together and working through both thicknesses, 2 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc on BODY, holding next sc on BODY and sc #3 on LEG together and working through both thicknesses, 2 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc on BODY.

Finish off leaving a long tail. OPTIONAL: Insert floral wire. Sew ANTENNA to HEAD. Weave in ends. 


EYES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With aqua, ch 5, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch, slip st in first sc changing to white. (10)
Rd 2: Ch 2, hdc in next 6 sc. (6) Change to black.
Rd 3: Ch 2, 2 hdc in top of hdc, hdc in next side of hdc, working in sc of Rd 1, hdc in next sc, 2 hdc in next sc, hdc in next 4 sc, working in the side of Rw 2, hdc in the side of hdc, 2 hdc in top of hdc, hdc in next 4 hdc, hdc in same as beginning 2 hdc, slip st in first hdc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. With white, embroider highlight on EYES. Sew EYES to HEAD. Weave in ends.

WINGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (8)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 6: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (10)
