BJORN 2

This is another attempt at Bjorn based on some changes that the customer had me do to him.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Cafe latte, buff, navy blue, off white, coffee, charcoal, carrot, orange, gray, white, gold, black, and grey heather.
E Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
Small piece of craft foam cut in the shape of the shield
Glue

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With cafe latte, ch 4, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, (2 sc, change to white, sc) in next ch working around ch, working in free loop of foundation ch, change to black, sc in next ch, change to white, sc in next ch, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; (sc, change to black, sc) in next sc, change to white, sc in next sc, change to black, (sc, change to white, sc) in next sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 5 sc, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, change to white, sc in next 5 sc, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to white, sc in next sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 5 sc, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next sc, slip st in first sc. (10)
Rd 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. (10)
Rds 7-13: sc in each sc around. (10)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Stuff ARMS firmly.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With charcoal, ch 4, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 2 ch. (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. (15)
Rd 3: Working in back loops only, sc in next 7 sc, sc3tog, sc in next 5 sc. (13)
Rd 4: sc in each sc around. (13)
Rd 5: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 12 sc. (14)
Rd 6: (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (16)
Rd 7: sc in each sc around. (16) Change to navy blue.
Rd 8: Working in front loops only, sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (16)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Fold Rd 7 froward.
Rd 9: Working in both loops of Rd 6 and through Rd 7, attach navy blue in first sc, ch 1, sc in each sc around. (16)
Rd 10-13: sc in each sc around. (16)
Finish off in first LEG. Stuff LEGS firmly. DO NOT FINISH OFF in second LEG.

BODY:
Rd 1: sc in next 2 sc on RIGHT LEG, sc in next 16 sc on LEFT LEG starting with sc #11, sc in next 14 sc on RIGHT LEG. (32)
Rds 2-7: sc in each sc around. (32) Change to grey heather after Rd 7.
Rds 8-16: sc in each sc around. (32)
Rd 17: holding next sc on BODY and sc #9 on RIGHT ARM together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next sc, sc in next 12 sc on BODY, holding next sc on BODY and sc #2 of LEFT ARM together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 4 sc, sc in next 12 sc on BODY, holding next sc on BODY and sc #2 on RIGHT ARM together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next 3 sc, sc in next sc. IF DONE RIGHT YOU SHOULD END 1 SC PASSED STARTING POINT.
Rd 18: sc in next 12 sc on BODY, change to cafe latte, sc in next 6 sc on ARM, change to grey heather, sc in next 12 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 6 sc, slip st in first sc. (36)
Rd 19: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next sc, change to grey heather, sc in next 12 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next sc, change to grey heather, sc in next 12 sc, slip st in first sc. (32)
Rd 20: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 12 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 4 sc, change to grey heather, sc in next 12 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 4 sc, slip st in first sc. (32)
Rd 21: Ch 1, turn; (sc2tog) twice, change to grey heather, sc in next 12 sc, change to cafe latte, (sc2tog) twice, change to grey heather, sc in next 12 sc, slip st in first sc. (28)

STUFF BODY FIRMLY.
Rd 24: sc2tog around. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 24, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

HEAD:
Rd 1: With cafe latte, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (16)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 4: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rds 5-9: sc in each sc around. (30)
Rd 10: sc in next 9 sc, change to buff, sc in next 2 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 3 sc, sc3tog, sc in next 3 sc, change to buff, sc in next 2 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 8 sc. (28)
Rd 11: sc in next 9 sc, change to buff, sc in next 2 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 7 sc, change to buff, sc in next 2 sc, change to cafe latte, sc in next 8 sc. (28)
Rds 12-14: sc in each sc around. (28)
Rd 15: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around. (24)

STUFF HEAD FIRMLY.
Rd 17: sc2tog around. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 17, pull tightly and secure. Sew HEAD to BODY. Weave in ends.

BELT:
Rw 1: With coffee, ch 37, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (36)
Rws 2-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (36)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap BELT around BODY and sew together and tack stitch BELT to BODY.

BELT BUCKLE:
Rd 1: With gold, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BELT BUCKLE to BELT. Weave in ends.

TAIL:
Rd 1: With cafe latte, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
STUFF TAIL FIRMLY.
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew TAIL to BODY. Weave in ends.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With cafe latte, 5 sc in magic ring. (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (10)
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around. (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Do not stuff EARS. Sew EARS to BODY. Weave in ends. Using buff, embroider inner ear on EARS.

BEARD:
Fringe on pieces of off-white yarn. Separate the plies to simulate hair.

EYES, NOSE, MOUTH, AND CHEEK MARKS:
Use black and white to embroider EYES on HEAD. Use buff to embroider eyebrows on HEAD. Use café latte to embroider NOSE on HEAD just above BEARD attachment over sc3tog on HEAD. Use black to embroider CHEEK MARKS on HEAD.

HELMET:
Rd 1: With grey heather, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (16)
Rds 4-7: sc in each sc around. (16)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew HELMET to HEAD stuffing before closing. Using grey heather, embroider spikes on HELMET using French Knots. Weave in ends.

SHIELD:

Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch, slip st in first sc. (4)
Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to orange. (8)
Rd 3: Ch 1, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (12)
Rd 4: Ch 1, (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (16)
Rd 5: Ch 1, (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (20)
Rd 6: Ch 1, (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (24)
Rd 7: Ch 1, (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (28)
Rd 8: Ch 1, (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc changing to gray. (32)
Rd 9: Ch 1, (sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (36)
Rd 10: Ch 1, (sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc. (40)
Finish off. Weave in ends. Using black, embroider “R” and “S” on SHIELD. Using white, embroider “&” on SHIELD.

SHIELD STRAP:
Working with wrong side of SHIELD facing, attach orange in Rd 4, ch 10, slip st in opposite side of Rd 4. Finish off. Weave in ends. Cut piece of craft foam to match SHIELD. Cut a slit in center of craft. Push SHIELD STRAP through slit. Glue craft foam in place. Place SHIELD on RIGHT ARM and glue in place.

AXE:
AXE HANDLE:

Rd 1: With café latte, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
Rds 3-19: sc in each sc around. (6)
STUFF AXE HANDLE FIRMLY.
Rd 20: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 20, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

AXE HANDLE STRAP:
Attach café latte to AXE HANDLE, ch 10, skip next 8 Rds, slip st in next Rd. Finish off. Weave in ends.

AXE BLADE (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With gray, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook. (4)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 3: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rd 4: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (16)
Rd 5: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (20)
Finish off leaving a long tail in first AXE BLADE. DO NOT FINISH OFF IN SECOND AXE BLADE.
Rd 6: Holding both AXE BLADES together and working through both thicknesses, ch 1, turn; (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Finish off leaving a long tail.

AXE BLADE MOUNT:
Rd 1: Attach gray in foundation ch of one side of AXE BLADE, ch 1, sc in same ch as attachment, working in the side of Rds, sc in next Rd, sc2tog, working in second AXE BLADE matching to Rds used in first AXE BLADE, sc2tog, sc in next Rd, sc in next ch, sc in next Rd, sc2tog, working in first AXE BLADE matching to Rds used in second AXE BLADE, sc2tog, sc in next Rd. (10)
Rd 2: sc in next sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next sc, (sc2tog) twice. (6)
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew sides of AXE BLADE closed. Sew AXE BLADE MOUNT to AXE HANDLE. Weave in ends. Place AXE on left ARM and glue in place.
