EXODIA

This is next request from a customer of mine on Etsy that is obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh shows and card game.  I admit that Exodia was one of the most difficult Yu-Gi-Oh characters that I have made that was not some form of dragon. 

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn:  Burnt pumpkin, coffee, lemon, café latte, aqua, white, red, plum, navy blue, and black.

E and J (used only on CHAINS) crochet hooks

Polyester fiberfill

Tapestry needle

ARMS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With burnt pumpkin, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)

Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (16)

Rds 3-6:                sc in each sc around.  (16)

Rd 7:      3 sc in next 4 sc, sc in next 12 sc.  (24)

Rd 8:      sc in each sc around.  (24)

Rd 9:      (sc3tog) 4 times, sc in next 12 sc.  (16)

Rd 10:    (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (12)

Rd 11:    (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (16)

Rds 12-15:           sc in each sc around.  (16)

Rd 16:    (sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)

Rds 17-20:           sc in each sc around.  (18)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Stuff ARMS firmly.

ARM CUFFS (MAKE 2):

Rw 1:     With café latte, ch 25, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (24)

Rws 2-6:               Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (24)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Fold ARM CUFFS in half and sew together long way.  Wrap around ARMS and sew ends together.  Embroider spikes on ARM CUFFS.  Weave in ends.

ELBOW POINTS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With burnt pumpkin, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew ELBOW POINTS to ARMS.  Weave in ends.

ARM DIVIDING LINES:

Rd 1:      Working over sc of Rd 16, attach burnt pumpkin, ch 1, sc in each sc around except when you get to the ELBOW POINT, working 3 sc in Rd 15 below ELBOW POINT, slip st in first sc. 

Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Repeat working over Rd 18 and Rd 19.

LEGS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With burnt pumpkin, ch 9, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 6 sc, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 7 ch.  (18)

Rd 2:      (3 sc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc) around.  (22)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Fold LEG CUFFS in half and sew together long way.  Wrap around LEGS and sew ends together.  Embroider spikes on LEG CUFFS.  Weave in ends.

CHAINS (MAKE 4):

With a double strand of café latte and J crochet hook, ch 8.  Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew CHAIN to LEG CUFFS or ARM CUFFS.  Weave in ends.

KNEE POINTS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With burnt pumpkin, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew KNEE POINTS to LEGS.  Weave in ends. 

LEG DIVIDING LINES:

These will be done like ARM DIVIDING LINES just done over Rds 21 and 23 of LEGS respectfully.  Weave in ends.

CHIN SPIKE:

Rd 1:      With aqua, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around.  (4)

Rds 2-5:                sc in each sc around.  (4)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Stuff CHIN SPIKE firmly.

BREASTPLATE:

Rw 1:     With burnt pumpkin, ch 4, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch.  (5)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.

Rd 1:      With lemon, ch 4, slip st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, 2 sc in each ch around, slip st in first sc.  (8) 

Finish off leaving a long tail. 

BODY:

THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO PLACE THE BREASTPLATE ON EXODIA.  I FOUND THAT IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET THE HEAD THROUGH THE NECK OPENING ON THE BREASTPLATE ONCE IT IS STUFFED AND CLOSED.

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BELT BUCKLE to SHORTS.  Weave in ends.
