POLIWAG

My wife and daughters have been obsessed with Pokemon Go since it came out.  My oldest daughter caught a Poliwag recently.  She asked me to make one for her.  This is the pattern for Poliwag that I came up with.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn:  Blue, white, black, and pink.
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With blue, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (36)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (42)
Rd 8-18: sc in each sc around.  (42)
BEGIN STUFFING BODY.  CONTINUE TO ADD STUFFING AS YOU GO.
Rd 19: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around.  (36)
Rd 20: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (30)
Rd 21: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around.  (24)
Rd 22: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (18)
Rd 23: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (12)
Rd 24: sc2tog around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 24, pull tightly, and secure.  Weave in ends.

BELLY:
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  SWIRL:  Surface slip st around BELLY starting in center continuing all the way around.  Sew BELLY to BODY.

FEET (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With blue, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rds 3-5: sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 6: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (8)
Rds 7-8: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Do not stuff FEET.  Flatten and sew to bottom of BODY.

TAIL:
Rw 1: With blue, ch 12, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (11) Change to white.
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, hdc in next 3 sc, dc in next 3 sc, tr in next sc, 4 tr in next sc, turn work, work in free loops of foundation ch, 4 tr in first ch, tr in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 3 ch, sc in next 3 ch.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew TAIL to BODY.

MOUTH:
Rd 1: With pink, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew MOUTH to POLIWAG just above the BELLY.

EYES:
Embroider EYES on POLIWAG.  OPTIONAL:  Craft felt could also be used to make the EYES.
