LADY


This is rendering of the famed Lady character from Walt Disney cartoons and movies.  I originally designed this pattern for my daughter.  I have designed other Disney characters.  I plan to post them in the coming weeks.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Gold, buff, carrot, yellow, black, and blue.
D crochet hook
Felt:  Black, white, and brown
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Glue gun and glue or craft glue (your choice)

BODY:
Rd 1: With gold, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (27)
Rd 4: sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 3 times.  (31)
Rds 5-20: sc in each sc around.  (31)
Rd 21: sc in next 11 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 11 sc.  (33)
Rd 22: sc in next 11 sc, ( 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc) twice, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 11 sc.  (36)
Rds 23-26: sc in each sc around.  (36)
Begin stuffing BODY of LADY at this point.  Continue stuffing as you go.
Rd 27: sc in next 6 sc, (sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc) 3 times, sc2tog, sc in next 9 sc.  (32)
Rd 28: sc in next 6 sc, (sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc) 3 times, sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc.  (28)
Rd 29: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) 4 times, sc in next 4 sc.  (24)
Rd 30: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) 4 times, sc in next 4 sc.  (20)
Rd 31: sc in next 4 sc, (sc2tog, sc in next sc) 3 times, sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc.  (16)

Rd 35: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)

Finish off.  Finish stuffing BODY to get shape.  Weave tail through stitches of Rd 48 and pull tight and secure.

BELLY:
Rw 1: With buff, ch 6, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, 2 sc in next ch.  (7)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (9)
Rws 3-17: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (9)
Rw 18: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (11)
Rw 19: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice.  (14)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BELLY to BODY.

MUZZLE AND HEAD STRIP:
Rd 1: With buff, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around.  (15)
NOW WORKING IN ROWS
Rw 6: sc in next 2 sc leaving remaining sc unstitched.  (2)
Rws 7-16: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew to BODY adding stuffing in MUZZLE before closing.

NOSE:
Rw 1: With black, ch 2, 3sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew to MUZZLE.

LEGS:
FEET (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: With buff, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rds 5-6: sc in each sc around.  (20)
Rd 7: (sc2tog) 3 times, sc in next 14 sc.  (17)
Rd 8: (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 13 sc.  (15)
Finish off.

FRONT LEGS (MAKE 2):

Rw 1: With yellow, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (5)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; c in each sc across.  (5)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc2og, sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (3)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc3tog, ch 5, wrap around COLLAR, slip in top of Rw 5.  (1)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

TAIL:
Rd 1: With gold, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rds 3-7: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew TAIL to BODY adding stuffing to create desired shape before closing.

Rw 1: With carrot, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across.  (6)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) across.  (9)

Use felt to make EYES.  Glue EYES together and to head of BODY.

EYEBROWS AND MOUTH:
Use black yarn to embroider eyebrows and mouth on LADY.
