LITTLE BLACK WIDOW

This is rendering of the famed Black Widow character from Marvel Comics Avengers comic and movies.  It is the continuing series of dolls depicting popular comics book characters.  I starting on comics characters as a respond that I was making characters that were for girls.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Buff, red, café latte, and black.
D crochet hook
White, black, and red embroidery floss
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

DOLL:
BODY:
Rd 1: With buff, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc.  (9)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rd 4: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rds 5-8: sc in each sc around.  (15)
Rd 9: (sc2og) 7 times, sc in next sc.  (8)
Rds 10-11: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to blue.
Rd 12: Slip st changing to black, ch 1, sc in next sc, change to buff, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, change to black, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, join with slip st in first sc.  (12)
Rd 13: Ch 1, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, change to buff, sc in same sc as last sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in same sc as last sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, join.  (17)
Rd 14: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, change to buff, sc in next 2 sc, change to black, sc in next 11 sc.  (17)
Rd 15: (sc2tog) 5 times, sc in next 7 sc.  (12)
Rds 16-19: sc in each sc around.  (12)
BEGIN STUFFING BLACK WIDOW DOLL AT THIS POINT AND CONTINUE TO STUFF AS YOU GO.
RIGHT LEG:
Rd 20: sc in next 3 sc, skip next 6 sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (6)
Rds 21-27: sc in each sc around.  (6)
Rd 28: sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc.  (5)
Rd 29: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (7)
Rd 30: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (9)
Rd 31: sc in each sc around.  (9)
Rd 32: Working in back loops only, (sc in next sc, sc2og) around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail to close opening.  Whip stitch the opening closed.  Weave in ends.
LEFT LEG:
Rd 20: Attach black in first skipped sc with slip st, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 5 sc.  (6)
Rds 21-32: Same as RIGHT LEG.

ARMS (MAKE 2):
STUFF ARMS AS YOU GO.
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rds 2-9: sc in each sc around.  (5)
Rd 10: sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew ARMS to BODY.  Sew ARMS to BODY.

BELT:
Rw 1: With café latte, ch 19, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (18)
Finish off.  Wrap around waist and sew together.

EARS:
Rw 1: Attach white, o side of head of BODY even with ARMS, ch 1, sc over next 2 rounds, slip st in same sc as second sc.  (2)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Repeat on other side of head.

Use embroidery floss to embroider eyes, nose, and mouth on doll.  Fringe hair on doll and cut into a middle of back hair length.
