SCRABBLE

Scrabble is one of my favorite games.  I have designed a crocheted Scrabble board and letter tiles.  The board is done is done in separate squares and then sewn together.  I used single crochet to sew them together.  You can use any technique that you feel comfortable with.

MATERIALS

Worsted Weight Yarn:  Lt. Blue, Pink, Blue, Red, Tan, Black, Gray, Yellow.

Crochet Hook D

Tapestry needle

Craft foam

Craft glue

BOARD SQUARES

Follow these diagrams to make the various BOARD SQUARES.

DOUBLE LETTER SCORE (MAKE 24)

DOUBLE WORD SCORE (MAKE 16)

TRIPLE LETTER SCORE (MAKE 12)

TRIPLE WORD SCORE (MAKE 8)

STARTING CENTER SQUARE (MAKE 1)

BLANK SQUARES (MAKE 164)

You will need to make 164 tan blocks the same size as the colored blocks.

Use the diagram below to sew blocks together.

LETTER TILES (MAKE 100)

Use the distribution picture below to make the number of each letter tile that is needed.  There is a total of 100 letter tiles.  Each tile is 13 sts by 13 rows with a border of 1 round of single crochet around the tile with 2 sc in each corner.  After all of the tiles are finished, glue pieces of craft foam on the back of the tiles.  Follow graphs below to make each tile.
