TERRA THE GOLEM

This is an adaptation of Golem from the game of Pokemon designed by an Etsy customer and brought to plush by me.  This has been one of the easiest characters that he has given me in a while.  The body of Terra the Golem, like regular Golem, is a pattern for a soccer ball.  So, especially, Terra the Golem and Golem can be described as a soccer ball with arms, legs, and a head.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn:    Taupe, burnt pumpkin, buff, white, black, gray and red.
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle

BODY:
HEXAGONS (MAKE 20)
Rd 1:      With taupe, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)  Change to burnt pumpkin.
Rd 4:      (sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
PENTAGONS (MAKE 12):
Rd 1:      With taupe, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)  Change to burnt pumpkin.
Rd 4:      (sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc) around.  (25)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
ASSEMBLY:
Stitch Hexagons and Pentagons together in classic soccer ball pattern.  Stuff BODY firmly before closing.

TOENAILS (MAKE 8):
Rd 1:      With white, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2:      sc in each sc around.  (4)
Finish off.  Weave in ends. 

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      With buff, ch 8, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 6 ch.  (18)
Rd 2:      2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (22)
Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, sc in next 6 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (29)

Finish off in first 2 FINGERS for each ARM.  DO NOT finish off in third FINGER for each ARM.
HANDS AND ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 5:      sc in next 3 sc in third FINGER, sc in next 3 sc in first FINGER, sc in next 6 sc in second FINGER, sc in next 3 sc in first FINGER, sc in next 3 sc in third FINGER.  (18)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Wrap BRACELETS around wrist of ARMS and sew together.  Weave in ends.

Rd 2:      sc in each sc around.  (4)
Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)
Rd 4:      sc in each sc around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew HEAD SPIKES to HEAD stuffing before closing.  Weave in ends.

BODY SPIKES (MAKE 8):
Rd 1:      With, gray, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2:      sc in each sc around.  (4)
Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 5, pull tightly and secure.  Sew TAIL BUMPS to TAIL.  Weave in ends.
