CHUNKY SNAKE

This pattern is the same pattern that I used to make Ekans from the Pokemon games. In this version, I used bulky yarn to make it. The snake can be made using any color of yarn.

MATERIALS:
Bulky Yarn: Any color
Worsted weight yarn: Red
I crochet hook
Tapestry Needle
Poly-Fil®
15 mm yellow safety eyes
Optional: Floral wire

BODY:
Rd 1: With any color, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 4: (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rds 5-6: sc in each sc around. (18)
Rd 7: (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) around. (24)
Rds 8-10: sc in each sc around. (24)
Rd 11: (sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc) around. (18)
Rds 12-13: sc in each sc around. (18)
INSERT SAFETY EYES BETWEEN RDS 9 AND 10 WITH 5 STS BETWEEN EACH EYE.
BEGIN STUFFING BODY FIRMLY. CONTINUE STUFFING BODY FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.
Rd 14: (sc2tog, sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rds 15-59: sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 60: sc2tog, sc in next 10 sc. (11)
Rd 61: sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc. (10)
Rds 62-63: sc in each sc around. (10)
Rd 64: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around. (8)
Rd 65: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (6)
Rd 66: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 66, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

TONGUE:
Rw 1: Holding 2 strands of red yarn together, ch 10, slip st in second from hook, slip st in next 3 ch, ch 5, slip st in second ch from hook, slip st in next 8 ch.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew TONGUE to
