This is my first use of blanket yarn. My wife asked me to make her a beanie hat out of it and put “Mickey Mouse” ears on it. This beanie hat can be made using any color.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Any color
J crochet hook
Tapestry needle
BODY:
Rd 1: With any color, 10 dc in magic ring, join to first dc. (10)
Rd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each dc around, join. (20)
Rd 3: Ch 2, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around, join. (30)
Rd 4: Ch 2, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around, join. (40)
Rd 5: Ch 2, (dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around, join. (50)
Rd 6: Ch 2, (dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around, join. (60)
Rds 7-12: Ch 2, dc in each dc around, join. (60)
Finish off. Weave in ends.
EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With any color, 8 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 2: Ch 2, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (16)
Rd 3: Ch 2, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (32)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew EARS to BODY. Weave in ends.
