LITTLE FAIRY RAICHU "VALKYRIE"




This is another miniaturized version of an original Pokemon-inspired concept that an Etsy customer has designed up.  This is a Fairy-type version of Raichu.  He was personally named this Fairy Raichu “Valkyrie.” 



MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn:  café latte, yellow, white, black and gray.

E crochet hook

Polyester Fiberfill

Tapestry needle

Floral wire (optional)



BODY:

Rd 1:      With café latte, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)

Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (12)

Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)

Rd 4:      (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (21)

Rd 5:      sc in each sc around.  (21)

Rd 6:      sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc.  (23)

Rd 7:      sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog, sc in next 7 sc, sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc.  (21)

Rd 8:      (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around.  (18)

Rd 9:      sc in each sc around.  (18)

Rd 10:    (sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)

Rd 11:    sc in each sc around.  (20)

Rd 12:    (sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (22)

Rd 13:    sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc) 3 times.  (25)

STUFF BODY FIRMLY.

Rd 22:    sc2tog around.  (10)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 22, pull tightly and secure.  Weave in ends.



ARMS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With white, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)

Rd 2:      sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (5)  Change to café latte.

Rd 3:      sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (6)

Rd 4:      2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc.  (7)

Rd 5:      sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (8)

Rd 6:      (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Stuff ARMS firmly.  Sew ARMS to BODY.



LEGS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With café latte, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)

Rds 2-3:                sc in each sc around.  (6)  Change to white after Rd 3.

Rds 4-5:                sc in each sc around.  (6)

NOW WORKING IN ROWS.

Rw 6:     sc in next 3 sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (3)

Rw 7:     Ch ,1 turn; sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (2)

NOW WORKING IN ROUNDS AGAIN.

Rd 8:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, working in side of Rws, sc in next 2 Rws, slip st in next 3 unworked sc of Rd 5, working in side of Rws, sc in next 2 Rws.

Rd 9:      (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) twice, sc in next sc.  (7)

Rd 10:    2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (11)  Change to café latte.

Rd 11:    sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc.  (12)

Rd 12:    sc in each sc around.  (12)

Rd 13:    sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc.  (11)

Rd 14:    sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog.  (9)

STUFF LEGS FIRMLY.

Rd 15:    (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 15, pull tightly and secure.  Sew LEGS to BODY.  Weave in ends.  Using yellow, embroider stripes on LEGS. 



BELLY:

Rd 1:      With white, ch 3, 2 sc in second ch from hook, 4 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, 2 sc in next ch.  (8)

Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (16)

Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)

Rd 4:      sc in each sc around.  (24)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BELLY to BODY.  Using gray, embroider scar on BELLY.



NECK TUFF:

Rw 1:     With white, ch 8, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (7)

Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (9)

Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog.  (7)

Rw 4:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog.  (5)

Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (3)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew NECK TUFF to BODY right under HEAD overlapping BELLY adding a small amount of stuffing before closing.



CHEEKS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With yellow, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew CHEEKS to head of BODY.



EYES (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With blue, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EYES to head of BODY.



MOUTH, NOSE, AND EYE HIGHLIGHT:

Using black, embroider MOUTH and NOSE of LITTLE FAIRY RAICHU.  Using white, embroider EYE HIGHLIGHTS on EYES of LITTLE FAIRY RAICHU.



HEAD STRIPE:

Rw 1:     With yellow, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)

Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across.  (4)

Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, (slip st, ch 1, sc) in next sc, (sc, ch1, slip st) in next sc, slip st in next sc. 

Rw 4:     Ch 1, turn; (sc, ch 1, slip st) in next sc, (slip st, ch 1, 2 sc) in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.

Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc.  (4)

Rw 6:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc2tog.  (2)

Rw 7:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew HEAD STRIPE to head of FAIRY RAICHU.

Rw 1:     With white, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)

Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc.  (3)

Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (3)

Rw 4:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (3)

Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in same sc as last sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (2)

Rw 6:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc together the same sc as the last sc and next sc.  (3)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.

OUTER EARS (MAKE 2):

Rw 1:     With café latte, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)

Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc.  (3)

Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (3)

Rw 4:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (3)

Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in same sc as last sc, leaving remaining sc unworked.  (2)

Rw 6:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc together the same sc as the last sc and next sc.  (3)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.



UPPER EARS SWIRLS AND EAR EDGING:

Rw 1:     With yellow, ch 4, slip st in second ch from hook, slip2tog, holding INNER EARS and OUTER EARS together and working through both thicknesses, starting at upper outer ear point, slip st in first sc changing to café latte, sc in next 2 sc, working in side of EARS, sc in next 6 sc, sc in free loop of foundation ch, sc in side of Rw 1, slip st in side of Rw 2.

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Roll first couple of sc of UPPER EAR SWIRL and sew down.  Weave in ends.   Using white, sew outer edge together.  Sew EARS to head of LITTLE FAIRY RAICHU.



BACK STRIPES (MAKE 2):

Rw 1:     With yellow, ch 16, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 5 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next 2 ch, slip st in next ch. 

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BACK STRIPES to BODY.



TAIL:

Rw 1:     With café latte, ch 26, working over floral wire, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (25)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew TAIL to BODY.



LIGHTNING BOLT TAIL

Rw 1:     Working on end of TAIL, attach yellow in side of Rw 1, ch 1, sc in same Rw as attachment, sc in side of foundation ch of TAIL.  (2)

Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc.  (3)

Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (4)

Rw 4:     Ch 4, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, sc in next 4 sc.  (7)

Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog.  (7)

Rw 6:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc.  (8)

Rw 7:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, sc3tog.  (6)
