TIGER


This is the beginning a series of large animals and baby versions.  Here is a pattern for a tiger that when I made I finished it, my youngest daughter immediately named Tiggy.  She has been pestering me ever since for when I am going to make the baby Tiggy.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Orange, white, and black
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With orange,  sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (27)
Rd 4: sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (31)
Rd 5: sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (36)  Change to white
WORKING IN JOINED ROUNDS
Rd 6: slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 3 sc, change to orange, sc in next 28 sc, change to white, sc in next 4 sc, join with slip st in first sc.  (36)

OUTER EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 7 sc in second ch from hook.  (7)
Rd 2: Holding both an INNER EAR and OUTER EAR together and working through both thicknesses, ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew EARS to HEAD.

BEARD:
LEFT SIDE:
Starting at MUZZZLE, attach white, sc over next 4 sc, continue to follow jawline up to ear, slip st behind ear.  Finish off.  Weave in ends.
RIGHT SIDE:
Starting at EAR, attach white, sc along jawline to MUZZLE, slip st at connecting stitches of MUZZLE.  Finish off.  Weave in ends.

EYES, NOSE, MOUTH, AND STRIPES ON HEAD:
Embroider eyes, nose,  and mouth.  For stripes, refer to picture for placement.

TAIL:
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to orange.
Rds 5-6: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to black.
Rd 7: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to orange.
Rds 8-9: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to black.
Rd 10: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to orange.
Rds 11-12: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to black.
Rd 13: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to orange.
Rds 14-15: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to black.
Rd 16: sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to orange.

    1. I have not but am open doing them if I had a picture of the dragons and sphinx. I also have an Etsy store (CrochetFanaticDesign) where I take requests all of the time.

  3. Such s let down when you make something following direction and it doesnt come out right....no way that is the directions for the muzzle in picture....thks for sharing anyway
