LITTLE LOKI


This is rendering of the famed Loki character from MARVEL Thor comics and movies.  It is the continuing series of dolls depicting popular comics book characters.  I starting on comics characters as a respond that I was making characters that were for girls.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Buff, black, paddy green and gold.
D crochet hook
White and black embroidery floss
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

DOLL:
BODY:
Rd 1: With buff, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (9)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rd 4 (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rds 5-8: sc in each sc around.  (15)
Rd 9: (sc2tog) 7 times, sc in next sc.  (8)
Rds 10-11: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 12: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around..  (12)
Rd 13: 2 sc in next 5 sc, sc in next 7 sc.  (17)
Rd 14: sc in each sc around.  (17)
Rd 15: (sc2tog) 5 times, sc in next 7 sc.  (12) Change to black
Rds 16-20: sc in each sc around.  (12)
BEGIN STUFFING LOKI DOLL AT THIS POINT AND CONTINUE TO STUFF AS YOU GO.
RIGHT LEG:
Rd 21: sc in next 3 sc, skip next 6 sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (6)
Rds 22-28: sc in each sc around.  (6)
Rd 29: sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc.  (5)
Rd 30: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (7)
Rd 31: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (9)
Rd 32: sc in each sc around.  (9)
Rd 33: Working in back loops only, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Finish off.  Whip stitch the opening closed lining the stitches up.  Weave in ends.
LEFT LEG:
Rd 21: Attach black in first skipped sc of Rd 20 with slip st, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st and in next 5 sc.  (6)
Rds 22-33: Repeat instructions of RIGHT LEG.

ARMS (MAKE 2):
STUFF ARMS AS YOU GO.
 Rd 1: With buff, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around.  (5)  Change to black
Rds 4-9: sc in each sc around.  (5)
Rd 10: sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew ARMS to BODY.

TUNIC:
Rw 1: With black, ch 15, sc in second ch from hook and in next 5 ch, change to gold, sc in next ch, change to black, sc in next 7 ch.  (14)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, change to gold, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 7 sc.  (14)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 8 sc, change to gold, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 6 sc.  (14)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next 5 sc, sc in next 4 sc.  (19)

Rd 1: Working in free loops of TUNIC foundation ch, attach black, ch 1, sc in next 4 ch, (2 sc in next ch, sc in next ch) twice, join with slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 2: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc) twice, join.  (18)
Finish off.

Rw 3: Skip next 9 sc, attach black, ch 1, sc in next 18 sc.  (18)

Finish off leaving a llong tail to sew free loops of foundation ch and Rw 5 together after wrapping ARM GUARD around ARM.

JACKET:
TOP:

ASSEMBLY:
Sew ARMS to BODY.  Place TUNIC on doll and sew back seam closed.  Place JACKET on doll.  Place ARM GUARDS on doll’s ARMS and sew closed.

Hair is black in a mullet style.

Use embroidery floss to embroider nose, eyes, and mouth on doll.
