HELLO KITTY

This is a Hello Kitty doll that I made for my daughter.  This is an adaptation of a picture that I saw in a magazine for video games.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Red, shocking pink, gold, white, and black
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (25)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Rds 7-11: sc in each sc around.  (30)
Rd 12: (sc in next 13 sc, sc2tog) around.  (28)  Change to shocking pink
Rd 13: (sc in next 12 sc, sc2tog) around.  (26)
Rd 14: (sc in next 11 sc, sc2tog) around.  (24)
Rd 15: (sc in next 10 sc, sc2tog) around.  (22)
Rd 16: (sc in next 9 sc, sc2tog) around.  (20)
Rd 17: (sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog) around.  (18)
Rd 18: (sc in next 7 sc, sc2tog) around.  (16)
Rd 19: sc in next 14 sc, sc2tog.  (15)  Change to white.
Rd 20: 2 sc in each sc around.  (30)

Rds 23-27: sc in each sc around.  (50)
Rd 28: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around.  (40)
Rd 29: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (30)
Rd 30: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (20)
Rd 31: sc2tog around.  (10)
Stuff BODY at this point.
Rd 32: sc2tog around.  (5)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rds 3-6: sc in each sc around.  (10)  Change to shocking pink.
Rds 7-12: sc in each sc around.  (10)
Stuff ARMS at this point.
Rd 13: sc2tog around.  (5)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew ARM to BODY.  Sew to BODY.

OVERALLS:
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook working around ch.   (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (25)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (35)
Rds 8-12: sc in each sc around.  (35)
Rd 13: (sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog) 3 times, sc in next 5 sc.  (32)

BACK OF OVERALLS
Rw 17: sc in next 7 sc.  (7)
Rws 18-20: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (7)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
FRONT OF OVERALLS
Rw 17: Skip next 6 sc, attach red in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 6 sc.  (7)
RIGHT STRAP
Rw 18: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (2)
Rws 19-25: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew RIGHT STRAP to BACK OF OVERALLS.
LEFT STRAP
Rw 18: Skip next sc, attach red in next sc, ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next sc.  (2)
Rws 19-25: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail to LEFT STRAP to BACK OF OVERALLS.
Embroider to gold buttons on FRONT OF OVERALLS.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rds 5-6: sc in each sc around.  (20)
Rd 7: (sc2tog) 5 times, sc in next 10 sc.  (15)  Change to red.
Rds 8-11: sc in each sc around.  (15)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew LEGS to OVERALLS.  Stuff LEGS before closing.

EARS (MAKE 2):
INNER EARS  (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Finish off.
OUTER EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With white, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Rd 2: Working through both thicknesses of INNER EAR and OUTER EAR, ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, (sc, dc, sc) in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (7)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew EARS to head of BODY.

TAIL:
Rw 1: With white, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in next 2 ch.  (3)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; sc3tog.  (1)
Finish off.  Sew TAIL to OVERALLS.

BOW:
CENTER:
Rd 1: With red, 8 sc in magic ring, join with slip st in first sc.  (8)
OUTER CIRCLES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew BOW pieces together and then sew BOW to head next to left ear.

EYES, NOSE, AND WISKERS:
Embroider eyes, nose, and wiskers on head.
