COCA-COLA CAN

This is a pattern for a Coca-Cola® can that I was asked to create to go along with a mini polar bear pattern that I have.  The patterns for the mini polar bear and other accessories will be posted soon.

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn:  Red, white, black, and gray

E crochet hook

Polyester fiberfill

Tapestry needle

BOTTOM:

Rd 1: With gray, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)

Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (18)

Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (27)

Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (36)

Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (45)

Rd 6: (sc in next 14 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (48)

Rd 7: (sc in next 23 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (50)  Change to red.

Rds 8-41: Slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, follow graph below for Rounds 8 through 41.

Before continuing, use following graph for backstitching the Coca-Cola name on image of bottle on can.

Rd 42: (sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog) around matching white stitches with the white stitches of the previous round.  (45)

Rd 43: (sc in next 7 sc, sc2tog) around matching white stitches with the white stitches of the previous round.  (40)

Finish off.  I placed a piece of cardboard in bottom to keep bottom of can flat.  Stuff.

POP TAB

Rd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook working around ch, slip st in first sc, ch 5, skip 22 sc, slip st in next sc.

Rd 2: Ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 3 sc, 9 sc over ch-5 space, slip st in first sc.

Finish off leaving a long tail to sew to TOP.

TOP:

Rd 1: With gray, 8 sc in magic ring, join with slip in first sc.  (8)

Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc around, join.  (16)

Rd 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in next, 2 sc in next sc, change to black, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, change to gray, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) 5 times, join.  (24)

Rd 4: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 5 times, change to black, (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, change to gray, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, join.  (32)

Rd 5: Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, join.  (40)

Before continuing on, sew on POP TAB.

Rd 6: Ch 1, working through TOP and BOTTOM thicknesses; (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, join.  (48)

Finish off.  Weave in ends.
