LITTLE DEADPOOL
This is rendering of the famed Deadpool character from MARVEL Deadpool comics and upcoming movie. It is the continuing series of dolls depicting popular comics book characters. I starting on comics characters as a respond that I was making characters that were for girls.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Red, black, and café latte.
D crochet hook
White or yellow embroidery floss
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
2 skewers
Black tape
Silver paint
Paintbrush
DOLL:
BODY:
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. (9)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Rd 4 (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (15)
Rds 5-8: sc in each sc around. (15)
Rd 9: (sc2tog) 7 times, sc in next sc. (8)
Rd 10: sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 11: sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next sc. (8) Change to red.
Rd 12: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, change to black, 2 sc in next sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, 2 sc in next sc. (12)
Rd 13: 2 sc in next sc, change to red, 2 sc in next sc, change to black, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc. (17)
Rd 14: sc in next 2 sc, change to red, sc in next 6 sc, change to black, sc in next 4 sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc. (17)
Rd 15: sc2tog, change to red, (sc2tog) 3 times, change to black, sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc. (12)
Rds 16-20: sc in next sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc. (12)
BEGIN STUFFING BATMAN DOLL AT THIS POINT AND CONTINUE TO STUFF AS YOU GO.
RIGHT LEG:
Rd 21: sc in next sc, change to red, sc in next 2 sc, skip next 6 sc, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc. (6)
Rds 22-23: sc in next sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc. (6) Finish off red.
Rds 24-28 sc in each sc around. (6)
Rd 29: sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc. (5)
Rd 30: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc. (7)
Rd 31: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc. (9)
Rd 32: sc in each sc around. (9)
Rd 33: Working in back loops only, (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (6)
Finish off. Whipstitch the opening closed lining the stitches up. Weave in ends.
LEFT LEG:
Rd 21: Attach red in first skipped sc, ch1, sc in same sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 2 sc. (6)
Rds 22-23: sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 2 sc. (6) Change to black. Finish off red.
Rds 24-33: Repeat instructions of RIGHT LEG.
ARMS (MAKE 2):
STUFF ARMS AS YOU GO.
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rds 2-6: sc in each sc around. (5)
Rd 7: sc in next 2 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc. (5)
Rds 8-9: sc in each sc around. (5)
Rd 10: sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew ARMS to BODY.
ARM GUARDS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch. (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around. (2)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across. (4)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; (sc2tog) twice. (2)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew free loops of foundation ch and Rw 5 together. Slip on ARM of DEADPOOL.
BOOTS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (10)
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around. (10)
NOW WORKING IN ROWS
Rw 5: Slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, sc in next 2 sc, change to red, (sc2tog) twice, change to black, sc in next 3 sc. (8)
Rws 6-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 2 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc. (8)
Finish off after Rw 8 leaving a long tail to sew seam closed.
BELT:
Rw 1: With café latte, ch 29, sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. (18)
Finish off leavng a long tail to sew ends of BELT together after wrapping around BODY.
SWORD HOLDER:
Rw 1: With café latte, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch. (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across. (4)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. (6)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc. (8)
Rws 5-7: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (8)
Finish off.
STRAPS:
Rd 1: Starting in center of top, attach café latte, ch 1, sc in each sc to corner, ch 8, skip to Row 3, sc in end of Rows 1-3, 2 sc in each free loop of foundation ch, sc in end of Rows 1-3, ch 8, skip to corner of top, sc in each remaining sc of top. Finish off. Weave in ends.
SWORDS (MAKE 2):
Make swords out of wooden skewers. Cut wooden skewer 4 ½” from point. Wrap black tape around cut end about 1” from end. Poke SWORDS through SWORD HOLDER in an X pattern.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew ARMS to BODY. Place BOOTS on DEADPOOL and sew back seam closed. Place BELT on DEADPOOL and sew together. Place SWORD HOLDER with SWORDS on DEADPOOL.
Use embroidery floss to embroider eyes on doll. I used yellow as a request from my wife. You can use either white or yellow based on your preference.
