MOON AND STAR NECKLACE

This is larger version of a necklace that was requested to be included with a plush that I am making for a friend. Unfortunately, the necklace for the plush must be really small. I have found that the easiest way to make the smaller version is to make a larger version so that I can shrink it down. When I made that determination, my 14-year-old daughter said that she wanted the larger version. The inspiration was the necklace below. The Size 7 crochet hook is used to make the STAR. B crochet hook is used to make the MOON and CHAIN.

MATERIALS:
Crochet cotton: blue and silver.
Size 7 and B Crochet hook
Embroidery needle
Silver chenille stem
Necklace clasp

STAR:
Rd 1: With blue, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to silver. (8)
Rd 3: (ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, slip st in next sc, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, slip st in next sc) around.
Finish off leaving a long tail.

MOON:
Rw 1: With double strand of silver crochet cotton, ch 15, working over chenille stem, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next 2 ch, 2 dc in next 3 ch, 2 tr in next 2 ch, 2 dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next ch. (22)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; slip st in next 5 sts, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 5 sts, slip st in next st.
Finish off. Sew STAR to MOON. Weave in ends.

CHAIN:
With double strand of silver and leaving a long tail, ch 100, slip st in last sc of Rw 2, ch 100.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew CHAIN to necklace clasp. Weave in ends.
