TEZ YAMI



This is another doll based on a drawing sent to me by a customer of mine on Etsy. This customer is obsessed with Pokemon. He said that this character was based on him as an Anime character. Tez Yami has a little companion called Snarl. I will be working on his pattern as well to go along with Tez Yami. B crochet hook was only used on the PANTS BELT WOLF BUCKLE and SWORD SCABBARD LOGO.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Taupe, black, gray, grey heather, white, buff, gold, and red.
E and B Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
Wooden Skewer
Silver paint marker
Glue
Crochet cotton
Beading needle

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With taupe, 6 sc in magic ring, join with slip st in first sc. (6)
Rd 2: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (8) Change to black.
Rds 3-4: sc in each sc around. (8)
Rd 5: (sc, change to taupe, 2 sc) in next sc, (2 sc, change to black, sc) in next sc, sc in next 6 sc. (12)

Rd 5: Ch 1, sc evenly around outside edge of HAND GUARDS with 3 sc in each corner, slip st in first sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Using gold and red, embroider markings on HAND GUARDS.

ARM GUARD STRAPS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With red, ch 15, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (14)
Finish off leaving a long tail.

ARM GUARDS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With grey heather, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (4)
Rws 2-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (4) Change to gold.
Rd 5: Ch 1, sc evenly around outside edge of ARM GUARDS with 3 sc in each corner, slip st in first sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew HAND GUARDS, ARM GUARD STRAPS, and ARM GUARDS together. Wrap ARM GUARD STRAPS around ARMS and sew together. Weave in ends.

EYES, EYEBROWS, AND MOUTH:
Embroider EYES, EYEBROWS, and MOUTH on face of DOLL.

HAIR:
Fringe long white yarn on top and back of head as hair. Fringe on longer white yarn on side of head next to each EAR. Braid long hair.

CRYSTAL HAIR ACCESSORIES (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With white, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Rw 2: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, sc in next sc. (3)
Rw 3: Ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, slip st in next sc, ch 4, slip st in third ch from hook, slip st in next ch, slip st same sc as slip st before ch-4.
Finish off. Weave in ends. Tie CRYSTAL HAIR ACCESSORIES to braided long black hair.

HEADPHONE BAND:
Rw 1: With black, ch 21, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (20)

Finish off leaving a long tail.

HEADPHONE SIDES (MAKE 2):

Rd 1: With taupe and B crochet hook, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch, slip st in first sc. (4)
Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to grey heather.
LEFT SIDE:
Rw 3: Ch 2, dc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, dc in next sc, leave remaining sc unworked. (4)

Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew SHOULDER GUARDS to SLEEVES. Weave in ends.

JACKET EDGING:
Rd 1: Attach in the side of Rw 3 of JACKET TOP, ch 1, sc in same ch as attachment, sc evenly around outside edge of JACKET with 3 sc in each corner, slip st in first sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Place JACKET on TEZ YAMI and 8 sc together. Weave in ends.

JACKET TIES (MAKE 2):
With black, ch 8, finish off leaving a long tail. Sew JACKET TIES to JACKET crossing them across chest of TEZ YAMI. Weave in ends.

JACKET BELT:
Rw 1: With black, ch 41, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (40)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Using gold, embroider belt buckle on JACKET BELT. Wrap around waist and sew together. Weave in ends.

SWORD SCABBARD:
Rw 1: With black, ch 18, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (17)
Rws 2-5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (17)
Finish off leaving a long tail.
Rw 6: Working in the side of Rws, attach red, ch 1, sc in next 5 Rws. (5)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew Rw 1 and Rw 4 together. Sew red edging together. Using red, wrap SWORD SCABBARD. Sew SWORD SCABBARD to JACKET BELT.

SWORD SCABBARD CHAIN:
With gray, ch 40. Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew SWORD SCABBARD CHAIN to SWORD SCABBARD wrapping it around SWORD SCABBARD. Weave in ends.

SWORD BLADE:
Cut wooden skewer 6-inches from tip. Paint skewer silver.

SWORD HANDLE:
Rw 1: With red, ch 8, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (7)
Rws 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (7)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across, ch 10, slip st in first sc of Rw 4.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap around SWORD BLADE, glue in place, and sew SWORD HANDLE closed. Using black, wrap SWORD HANDLE leaving a tail. Weave in ends.

SWORD HANDLE CAP:
Rw 1: Working in the side of Rws, attach gold, ch 1, sc in next 4 Rws. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew SWORD HANDLE CAP together. Weave in ends.

SWORD HILT:
Rd 1: Working in the side of Rws of SWORD HANDLE, ch 1, 2 sc in the side of each Rw, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 2: Ch 1, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in next sc, sc in next sc, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next sc, sc in next sc) twice, slip st in first sc.
Finish off. Weave in ends.

DRILL:
Rd 1: With gray, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (6)
Rd 3: sc in each sc around. (6) Change to gold.
Rd 4: sc in each sc around. (6)
STUFF DRILL FIRMLY.
Rd 5: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc around. (6)

DRILL CHAIN:

Attach gray to Rd 5 of DRILL, ch 10, slip st in SWORD HANDLE CAP. Finish off. Weave in ends.

SWORD SCABBARD LOGO:
Rd 1: With white and B crochet hook, ch 3, 2 sc in second ch from hook, 4 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loop of foundation ch, 2 sc in next ch, slip st in first sc. (8)
Rd 2: Ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, slip st in next 2 sc, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, slip st in next 2 sc, (ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, slip st in next sc) 3 times.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Using black embroider eyes on SWORD SCABBARD LOGO. Sew SWORD SCABBARD LOGO to SWORD SCABBARD. Weave in ends.

NECKLACE:
Feed 16 yellow facet beads and 15 pearls on crochet cotton. Attach NECKLACE to back of collar of JACKET. Weave in ends.
