LEGENDARY RED RANGER HALBERD

This is an additional weapon for the Legendary Red Ranger that I have made in the past for a customer on Etsy.  The hardest part about making this was the wolf head that is hilt of the halberd. 

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Red, gold, black, gray, and white.
E Crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Wooden skewer

BLADE (MAKE 2):
Rw 1:     With gray, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (3)
Rws 2-6:               Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Rw 7:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc.  (2)
Rw 8:     Ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 sc.  (3)
Rw 9:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (4)
Rw 10:   Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (4)
Rw 11;   Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog.  (3)
Rw 12:   Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next sc.  (2)
Rw 13:   Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

BLADE EDGE:
Rw 1:     Holding both BLADES together and working through both thicknesses, attach gray in the side of Rw 4, ch 1, sc in same Rw as attachment, sc in next 2 Rws, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, sc together last sc made before ch-2 and next Rw on BLADES, sc in next 2 Rws, 2 sc in next Rw, sc in next 3 Rws, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook, sc in sc before ch-2, 2 sc in sc of Rw 13 of BLADES, sc in next 4 Rws, 2 sc in next Rw.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Whipstitch the rest of BLADES together.  Weave in ends.

WOLF HEAD TOP:
Rd 1:      With red, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, change to black, 5 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, change to red, sc in next 3 ch.  (11)
ATTACH BLACK IN THIRD SC OF (5 SC), CH 3.  FINISH OFF.
Rd 2:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to gold, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next sc, sc in next 2 ch, 4 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of ch-3, sc in next 2 ch, sc in next sc, change to gold, sc in next sc, change to red, sc in next 3 sc.  (18)
Rd 3:      Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 4:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, skip next 8 sc, sc in next 5 sc.  (10)
Rd 5:      Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail. 

WOLF HEAD BOTTOM:
Rd 1:      With red, ch 10, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 7 ch, 2 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 8 ch.  (18)
Rd 2:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, skip next 8 sc, sc in next 5 sc.  (10)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Sew WOLF HEAD BOTTOM to WOLF HEAD TOP.  Weave in ends.  Using white, embroider teeth on WOLF HEAD while attaching BLADE to WOLF HEAD.  Weave in ends.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1:     With red, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook.  (1)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc.  (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EARS to WOLF HEAD.  Weave in ends.

WINGS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1:     With red, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (5)
Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc.  (6)
Rw 4:     Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, skip next sc, slip st in next sc. 
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Using black, embroider markings on WINGS.  Sew WINGS to WOLF HEAD.  Weave in ends.

HANDLE STRAP:
With gold, ch 12.  Finish off.

HANDLE:
Rw 1:     With red, ch 36, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 12 ch, change to black, sc in next 9 ch, change to red, sc in next 13 ch.  (35)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next 12 sc, holding next sc on HANDLE and first ch of HANDLE STRAP together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 9 sc on HANDLE, change to red, holding next sc on HANDLE and last ch on HANDLE STRAP together and working through both thicknesses, sc in next sc, sc in next 12 sc on HANDLE.  (35)
Rws 3-4:               Ch 1, turn; sc in next 13 sc, change to black, sc in next 9 sc, change to red, sc in next 13 sc.  (35)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Insert wooden skewer.  Wrap HANDLE around wooden skewer and sew together.  Weave in ends.  With gold, embroider markings.
