LEGENDARY RED RANGER GAUNTLETS

These Gauntlets are designed to fit over the arms of Legendary Red Ranger.  These are an additional accessory that one of my customers on Etsy has asked to make to make him to go with a character called Red Wolf Power Ranger that I made a plush of for him about a month ago.

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn:  Red, black, gold, white, aqua, and gray.
E crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Velcro
Glue

WOLF HEAD TOP (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With black, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 2 ch.  (6)
Rd 2:      Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (6)  Change to gold.
Rd 3:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, change to gold, sc in next sc.  (10)  Change to red.
Rds 4-5:                sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

WOLF HEAD BOTTOM (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With red, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 4 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 3 ch.  (10)
Rd 2:      Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3:      Holding WOLF HEAD BOTTOM and WOLF HEAD TOP together and working through both thicknesses, sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

BACK OF WOLF HEAD (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      Attach red in foundation ch of WOLF HEAD BOTTOM, ch 1, sc in same ch as attachment, sc in net 2 Rws, sc in next 2 Rws of WOLF HEAD TOP, change to gold, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 2 Rws, sc in foundation ch of WOLF HEAD TOP, sc in next 2 Rws, change to gold, sc in next Rw, change to red, sc in next 2 Rws, sc in next 2 Rws of WOLF HEAD BOTTOM, slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 2:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 7 sc, slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 3:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next 7 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 6 sc, slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 4:      Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 7 sc, slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 5:      Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, change to black, 3 sc in next sc, change to red, sc in next 7 sc.  (19)
Rd 6:      sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog, sc in next sc, skip next 3 sc, sc in next sc, sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog.  (12)
STUFF WOLF HEAD FIRMLY.
Rd 7:      sc2tog around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 7, pull tightly and secure.  Weave in ends.  Using white, embroider 3 teeth on each side of HEAD.  Using gold, embroider 3 cannons on each side of HEAD.

HEAD BOTTOM WINGS (MAKE 4):

Rw 1:     With red, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, 2 sc in next sc.  (3)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew HEAD BOTTOM WINGS to WOLF HEAD.  Weave in ends.

ARM GUARD (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      Attach red in the side of Rw 1 of HEAD BOTTOM WING, ch 1, sc in same Rw as attachment, sc in next Rw, working in sc of Rd 5, sc in next 6 sc, skip next 3 sc, sc in next 6 sc, sc in next 2 Rws of HEAD BOTTOM WING.  (18)
Rws 2-4:               Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 4 sc, change to red, sc in next 8 sc, change to black, sc in next 4 sc, change to red, sc in next sc.  (18)
Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, change to gold, sc in next 5 sc, change to red, sc in next 6 sc, change to gold, sc in next 5 sc, change to red, sc in next sc.  (18)
Rw 6:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 4 sc, change to red, sc in next sc, change to gold, sc in next 6 sc, change to red, sc in next sc, change to black, sc in next 4 sc, change to red, sc in next sc.  (18)
Rw 7:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc in next 8 sc, change to black, sc in next 3 sc, change to red, sc2tog.  (16)
Rw 8:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, change to black, sc in next 2 sc, change to red, sc in next 8 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc, change to red, sc2tog.  (14)

EARS (MAKE 4):

Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc.  (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EARS to WOLF HEAD.  Weave in ends.

WINGS (MAKE 4):

Rw 1:     With red, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook.  (3)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (5)
Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc.   (8)
Rw 4:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (9)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Using black, embroider markings on WINGS.  Sew WINGS to WOLF HEAD.  Weave in ends.

HEAD JEWEL (MAKE 2):

Rd 1:      With gray, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook, slip st in first sc.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Using aqua, embroider jewel on HEAD JEWEL.  Sew HEAD JEWEL to WOLF HEAD TOP.  Weave in ends.

ARM GUARD SPIKES (MAKE 4):

Rd 1:      With red, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2:      sc in each sc around.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BACK SPIKES on ARM GUARDS.  Weave in ends.

ARM STRAPS (MAKE 4):

Rw 1:     With gold, ch 6, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (5)
Rws 2-8:               Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (5)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew 1 ARM STRAP to each side of LEGENDARY RED RANGER GAUNTLETS.  Weave in ends.  Glue Velcro to ARM STRAPS.
