STEELBEAK (DISNEY'S DUCKTALES AND DARKWING DUCK)

This continues a series of plush dolls requested by a customer that are based of characters from a variety of television shows from the past and present and on various platforms. Steelbeak is a character that he made several appearances as a recurring antagonist on Disney’s Darkwing Duck along with several episodes of Disney’s Ducktales.

The customer also requested a special bathrobe and slippers set for Steelbeak. The pattern for those will be coming soon.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Lemon, gold, white, black, teal, red, and burgundy.
C Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
3 green chenille stems
2 hook and eye sets
5 snap sets
5 small black buttons
Black ribbon
Black and white sewing thread
Sewing needle

THUMBS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With lemon, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (3)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around. (3)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

FINGERS (MAKE 6):
Rd 1: With lemon, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (3)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around. (3)
Finish off in first 2 FINGERS for each ARM. DO NOT FINISH OFF in third FINGER for each ARM.

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: sc in next 2 sc on third FINGER, sc in next sc on first FINGER, sc in next 3 sc on second FINGER, sc in next 2 sc on first FINGER, sc in next sc on third FINGER. (9)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around. (9)

LOWER BEAK:
Rd 1: With pewter, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)

Rd 1: Attach pewter in last sc of Rd 2 of LOWER BEAK, sc in the side of Rd 3 of LOWER BEAK, holding Rd 4 of LOWER BEAK and Rd 3 of UPPER BEAK together and working through both thicknesses, (sc, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, sc) in next Rd, sc in the side of next 2 Rds of UPPER BEAK, sc in foundation ch of UPPER BEAK, sc in the side of next 2 Rds of UPPER BEAK, holding Rd 3 of UPPER BEAK and Rd 4 of LOWER BEAK together and working through both thicknesses, (sc, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, sc) in next Rd, sc in the side of Rd 3 of LOWER BEAK, sc in first sc of Rd 2 of LOWER BEAK, slip st in first sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BEAK to head and GABBLER stuffing before closing. Weave in ends.

MOHAWK:
Rw 1: With red, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch. (4)
Rw 2: Ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2 ch, 2 sc in next ch. (6)
Rw 3: Ch 7, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next 3 ch, dc in next 2 ch. (6)
Rw 4: Working in the side of Rw 3, ch, (sc, sc2tog) in the side of Rw 3.
Rw 5: Working in the side of Rws, ch 1, sc in the side of Rw 4, 2 sc in the side of Rw 3, sc in the side of Rw 2, 2 sc in the side of Rw 1.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew MOHAWK to head of STEELBEEK. Weave in ends.

CHEEKS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With lemon, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (3)
Rw 2: Ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, working in sc of Rw 1, dc in next 2 sc. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew CHEEKS to head of STEELBEEK. Weave in ends.

EYES AND EYEBROWS:

Using white and black, embroider EYES. Using black, embroider EYEBROWS.

LARGE TAIL FEATHER:
Rw 1: With teal, ch 31, working over chenille stem, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next 11 ch, dc in next 4 ch, hdc in next 4 ch, sc in next 8 ch. (30)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew LARGE TAIL FEATHER to BODY. Weave in ends.

SMALL TAIL FEATHERS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With teal, ch 27, working over chenille stem, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next 9 ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 3 ch, sc in next 8 ch. (26)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew SMALL TAIL FEATHERS to BODY on each side of LARGE TAIL FEATHER. Weave in ends.

SHOES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, ch 11, 2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 8 ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 9 ch. (22)
