MCWINKLE (GREEN EGGS AND HAM)

This is an interesting character. McWinkle is a request from a customer on Etsy. Compared to others that this customer has requested, McWinkle is the easiest. McWinkle is a supporting character in Netflix’s Green Eggs and Ham. He is a large man covered in blue fur, who wears some dark sunglasses and a black hat.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Blue, royal blue, and black.
B crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Elastic cord

THUMBS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With blue, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around. (4)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

FINGERS (MAKE 8):
Rd 1: With blue, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch. (4)
Rds 2-4: sc in each sc around. (4)
Finish off in first 3 FINGERS for each hand. DO NOT FINISH OFF in the fourth FINGER for each hand.

ARMS (MAKE 2):

BEARD (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With blue, ch 9, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, hdc in next 3 ch, sc in next 2 ch. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BEARD to each side of MUZZLE with slip st against MUZZLE and curve along jawline. Weave in ends.

MUZZLE HAIR:
Fringe 3 pieces of blue yarn on each side of MUZZLE.

LENSES:
Rd 1: With black, 6 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew LENSES to BODY. Using black, embroider glasses straps and nose ridge. Weave in ends. Using royal blue, embroider eyebrows on BODY.

BACK OF NECK HAIR:
Rw 1: With blue, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Rws 2-3: Ch 2, sc in second ch from hook. (1)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BACK OF NECK HAIR to BODY. Weave in ends.

TOP OF HAIR:
Fringe on 3 small pieces of blue yarn on the top of head of MCWINKLE.

HAT:
WRAP ELASTIC CORD AROUND HEAD TIGHTLY AND TIE TOGETHER.
HAT BUMPS (MAKE 2):

Rd 1: With black, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loop of foundation ch, 2 sc in next sc. (6)
Rd 2: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (8)
Rd 3: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (10)
Rd 4: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (12)
Finish off in first HAT BUMP. DO NOT FINISH OFF in second HAT BUMP.
