SWIRLIX

This is another Pokemon on my daughter’s always growing “To Do” list that she started when Pokemon Go came out. Once again, it took a customer on Etsy requesting Swirlix for me to finally get around to making it for her. This pattern includes the yarn colors for making Swirlix and Shiny Swirlix.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesizes): White (buff), baby pink (café latte), perfect pink, and black.
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Yarn Needle

SIDE PUFFS (MAKE 8):
Rd 1: With white, 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (16)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around. (24)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew SIDE PUFFS together to form a ring.

BODY FRONT:
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (42)
Rd 8: (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (48)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BODY FRONT to ring of SIDE PUFFS. Weave in ends.

BODY BACK:
Rd 1: Attach white in any sc of ring of SIDE PUFFS, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, working around ring of SIDE PUFFS, sc in each sc around. (48)
Rd 2: (sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog) around. (42)
Rd 3: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around. (36)
Rd 4: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around. (30)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around. (24)
Rd 6: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around. (18)
Rd 7: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF BODY FIRMLY.
Rd 8: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 8, pull tightly and secure. Weave in ends.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With baby pink, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18) Change to white.
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around. (18)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around. (15)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew EARS to BODY stuffing before closing. Weave in ends.

FEET (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With baby pink, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: Working in back loops only, sc in next 6 sc, (3 dc in next sc, sc in next sc) twice, 3 dc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc. (22)
Rd 5: sc in next 6 sc, (dc3tog, sc in next sc) twice, dc3tog, sc in next 7 sc. (18)
Rd 6: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (12)
STUFF FEET FIRMLY.
Rd 7: sc2tog around. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sc of Rd 7, pull tightly and secure. Sew FEET to BODY. Weave in ends.

FOREHEAD BUMP:
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)

Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew FOREHEAD BUMP to BODY stuffing before closing. Weave in ends.

TAIL:
Rd 1: With baby pink, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (14)
Rds 4-8: sc in each sc around. (14)
Rd 9: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around. (12)

Rd 17: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around. (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew TAIL to BODY. Weave in ends.

TAIL FUR (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With white, ch 6, slip st in second ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch. (5)
Rw 2: Ch 12, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, (dc2tog) 3 times, hdc in next ch, working over ch and in sc of Rw 1, hdc in next 2 sc. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew TAIL FUR to BODY above and below TAIL. Weave in ends.

EYES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With perfect pink, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch, slip st in first sc. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew EYES to BODY. With white, embroider irises on EYES. Weave in ends.

TONGUE:
Rd 1: With perfect pink, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, 4 hdc in next ch working around ch, working in free loop of foundation ch, sc in next ch. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew TONGUE to BODY. Weave in ends.

NOSE AND MOUTH:
With perfect pink, embroider NOSE on BODY. With black, embroider MOUTH on BODY.
