CHANDELURE

Pokemon have become extremely popular across the world.  Chandelure has been on my daughrer’s “To Do” list for me for months now.  I am finally getting to it because I have 2 customers on Etsy asking for him.  The hardest part of Chandelure are the arms.  I used floral wire in the arms.  This pattern includes the color lists for both Chandelure and Shiny Chandelure.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny alternative in parenthesis):  Orchid (Orange), black, and yellow.
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
Floral wire

BODY:
Rd 1:      With white, 8 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc.  (8)
Rd 2:      Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (16)
Rd 3:      Ch 1, turn; (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (24)
Rd 4:      Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (32)
Rd 5:      Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (40)
Rd 6:      Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (48)
Rds 7-13:              Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (48)
Rd 14:    Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around, slip st in first sc.  (40)
Rd 15:    Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around, slip st in first sc.  (32)
Rd 16:    Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around, slip st in first sc.  (24)
Rd 17:    Ch 1, turn; (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around, slip st in first sc.  (16)
STUFF BODY FIRMLY.
Rd 18:    sc2tog around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 18, pull tightly, and secure.  Weave in ends.

BOTTOM POINT:
Rd 1:      With black, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around.  (4)
Rd 2:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)
Rd 3:      (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (8)
Rd 4:      (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (10)
Rd 5:      (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rd 6:      (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (14)
Rd 7:      (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (16)
Rd 8:      sc in each sc around.  (16)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Stuff BOTTOM POINT firmly.

BOTTOM POINT BASE:
Rd 1:      With black, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 3:      holding next sc on BASE and first on BOTTOM POINT together and working through both thicknesses, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 4:      (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (32)
Rds 5-6:                sc in each sc around.  (32)
Rd 7:      (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (24)
Rd 8:      (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (16)
STUFF BOTTOM POINT BASE ENOUGH TO KEEP IT LIKE A DONUT.
Rd 9:      sc2tog around.  (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail though sc of Rd 9, pull tightly and secure.  Sew BOTTOM POINT BASE to BODY.  Weave in ends.

CROWN:
Rd 1;      With black, 8 sc in magic ring.  (8)
Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (16)
Rd 3:      (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rd 4:      Slip st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as slip st, skip next sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc, (5 dc in next sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc, skip next sc) 4 times, slip st in first sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew CROWN to top of BODY.

TOP FLAME:
Rd 1:      With orchid, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2:      sc in each sc around.  (4)
Rd 3:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)
Rds 4-5:                sc in each sc around.  (6)
Rd 6:      sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (8)
Rds 7-8:                sc2tog, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (8)
Rd 9:      (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rds 10-12:           sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rds 13-14:           sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2a sc, sc in next 3 sc, (sc2tog) twice, sc in next 2 sc.  (12)
Rds 15-16:           sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 17:    (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (14)
Rd 18:    (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (16)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Stuff TOP FLAME firmly.  Sew TOP FLAME to Rd 2 of CROWN.  Weave in ends.

BODY LINES:
Using black, embroider BODY LINES on BODY. 

EYES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      With yellow, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around, slip st in first sc changing to black.  (5)
Rd 2:      Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EYES to BODY.  Weave in ends.

ARMS (MAKE 2):
Rw 1:     With black, ch 41, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (40)
Rw 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (40)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew end of ARMS closed.  Sew Rw 3 to free loops of foundation ch.  Insert 2 pieces of floral into Rd 3 of BOTTOM POINT BASE.  Slip floral wire in ARMS and sew ARMS to BOTTOM POINT ASSEMBLY of CHANDELURE.

FINGER FLAMES (MAKE 4):
Rd 1:      With orchid, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around.  (4)
Rd 2:      sc in each sc around.  (4)
Rd 3:      2 sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rds 4-5:                sc in each sc around.  (8)  Change to black after Rd 5.
Rds 6-8:                sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 9:      (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Rd 10:    (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (4)j
Rw 11:   slip st together sc #1 and sc #4, ch 13, working over floral wire, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 11 ch, slip st together sc #2 and sc #3 of Rd 8.
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Sew 2 FINGER FLAMES to each ARM.  Weave in ends.
