CHAIN CHOMP

This is the next item in a series of items from the various Mario games. This one is the Chain Chomp from the various Mario games.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Black, red, white, and gray.
B crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

INSIDE OF MOUTH:
Rd 1: With red, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Finish off. Weave in ends.

HEAD (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With red, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (36)
Rds 7-10: sc in each sc around. (36)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew HEAD and INSIDE OF MOUTH pieces together stuffing before closing. Weave in ends.

TEETH (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With white, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, dc in next ch. (2)
Rws 2-8: Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook, dc in next ch. (2)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew TEETH along each edge of attachment of INSIDE OF MOUTH and HEAD pieces. Weave in ends.

EYES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With black, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around, slip st in first sc changing to white. (4)
Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew EYES to HEAD. Weave in ends.

ANCHOR BLOCK:
Rw 1: With gray, ch 19, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (18)
Rws 2-6: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (18)
Finish off. Weave in ends.
Rw 7: Skip next 6 sc, attach gray in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 5 sc. (6)
Rws 8-24: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew ANCHOR BLOCK together stuffing before closing. Weave in ends.

BACK OF HEAD CHAIN MOUNT:
Rd 1: With gray, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch, slip st in first sc. (4)
Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc. (8)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BACK OF HEAD CHAIN MOUNT to HEAD. Weave in ends.

BACK OF HEAD MOUNT AND ANCHOR BLOCK LINK (MAKE 2):
With gray, ch 5. Sew BACK OF HEAD MOUNT LINK to BACK OF HEAD MOUNT. Sew ANCHOR BLOCK LINK to ANCHOR BLOCK. Weave in ends.

CHAIN LINKS (MAKE 5):
With gray, ch 15, slip CHAIN LINK through previous LINK, slip st in first ch. Slip the last CHAIN LINK through the ANCHOR BLACK LINK before slip st in first ch. Weave in ends.
