FOX MAGICAL STAFF

This is a request from a close friend that is obsessed with a show called The Owl House. She is also obsessed with foxes. She wanted a magical staff with a fox as a topper. The easy part of making the fox for her staff was the fact that had made Tod the Fox for a customer on Etsy. I just had to adapt the pattern to fit over the paint brush handle.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: Carrot, black, perfect pink, and white.
B crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle
1 pair of 12 mm green safety eyes
Paint brush handle (metal part removed)
Paint brush extension pole
Glue
Floral wire

INSIDE WRAP:
Rw 1: With carrot, ch 21, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (20)
Rws 2-18: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (20)
Finish off leaving a long tail. Wrap around and glue to paint brush handle with a 1 sc edge below the bottom of paint brush handle. Sew Rw 1 and Rw 18 together. Weave in ends.

BODY:
Rd 1: Working in the side of Rws of INSIDE WRAP, attach carrot, ch 1, sc in same Rw as attachment, 2 sc in next Rw, (sc in next Rw, 2 sc in next Rw) 8 times, slip st in first sc. (27)

MUZZLE:
Rd 1: With white, 6 sc in magic ring. (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)

Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew MUZZLE to BODY stuffing before closing. Using black, embroider nose and mouth on MUZZLE. Weave in ends.

FOREHEAD HAIR:
Fringe on pieces of carrot to forehead of BODY.
