GRENINJA

This is the next in the long list of Pokemon that a customer of mine on Etsy has requested.  Greninja is the next Pokemon on his ever-growing list.  This pattern includes the color lists for both Greninja and Shiny Greninja. 

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny alternative is in parenthesizes):  Royal blue (Charcoal), off white (charcoal), white, red, delft blue, and perfect pink (red).
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Yarn Needle
Glue

BODY:
Rd 1:      With blue, 5 sc in magic ring.  (5)
Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3;      (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)

Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc.  (2)
Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (2)

Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (4)
Rw 4:     Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc.  (3)
Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Rw 6:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, sc2tog.  (2)

HEAD WINGS (MAKE 2):

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew HEAD WINGS to HEAD using them to close the back of the HEAD with hdc against each side of MOHAWK stuffing HEAD before closing.  Sew HEAD WINGS to MOHAWK.  Weave in ends.

EYEBROWS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      With blue, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook.  (4)  Change to white.
Rd 2:      Working in back loops only, sc in next 4 sc.  (4)
Rd 3:      Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc2tog.  (2)
Rd 4:      Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EYESBROWS to HEAD stuffing before closing.  Weave in ends.

EYES:
Embroider EYES on side of HEAD just below EYEBROWS.

EARS (MAKE 4-2 IN BLUE, 2 IN OFF WHITE):
Rw 1:     Ch 2, sc in second ch from hook.  (1)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn: sc in next sc.  (1)
Rw 3:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc.  (2)
Rw 4:     Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (2)
Rw 5:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc.  (3)
Rw 6:     Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (3)
Rw 7:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  (4)
Rw 8:     Ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog.  (3)

Rw 11:   Working in the side of Rws, ch 1, sc in next 3 Rws. 
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew Rw 11 of OFF-WHITE EARS to HEAD.  Weave in ends.  Glue OFF-WHITE EARS to BLUE EARS. 

TONGUE:
Rd 1:      With perfect pink, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2:      2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rds 3-12:              sc in each sc around.  (12)
BEGIN STUFFING TONGUE MODERATELY.  CONTINUE STUFFING TONGUE MODERATELY AS YOU GO ALONG.
Rd 13:    (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (10)
Rds 14-70:           sc in each sc around.  (10)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Wrap around neck of BODY and sew together.  Tack stitch TONGUE to BODY.  Weave in ends.

FINGERS AND TOES (MAKE 10):
Rd 1:      With blue, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2:      (sc in next sc, 2 sc in net sc) around.  (6)
Rds 3-4:                sc in each sc around.  (6)
BEGIN STUFFING FINGERS AND TOES FIRMLY.  CONTINUE STUFFING FINGERS AND TOES FIRMLY AS YOU GO ALONG.

STUFF LEGS FIRMLY.

Finish off leaving a long tail.   Sew LEGS to BODY.  Weave in ends.  Using delft blue, embroider an X on the upper section of the LEGS.

FEET (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      sc in next 2 sc on first TOE, sc in next 4 sc on second TOE, sc in next 2 sc on first TOE.  (8)
Rds 2-8:                sc in each sc around.  (8)
STUFF FEET FIRMLY.
Rd 9:      (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 9, pull tightly and secure.  Sew FEET to LEGS.  Weave in ends.

KNEE GUARD (MAKE 2):
Rd 1:      With white, ch 3, 2 sc in second ch from hook, 4 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, 2 sc in next ch.  (8)
Rd 2:      2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (12)

    I need to make one of about 18cm, so I want to know what hook to use
