This is another Pokemon from my daughter’s always growing “To Do” list
that she gave shortly after Pokemon Go was released. Noctowl is on the list along with his basic
form, Hoothoot. I am sure that making
Noctowl will lead to making Hoothoot shortly.
This pattern includes the color lists for both Noctowl and Shiny Noctowl.
MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn (Shiny colors in parenthesis): Taupe (gold), coffee, café latte (burnt
pumpkin), buff (peach), white, of white (buff), black, and red.E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Yarn Needle
6mm safety eyes
BODY:
Rd 1: With taupe, 6 sc in
magic ring. (6)Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (18)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (30)

BEAK HALVES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With buff, ch 3, sc in
second ch from hook, 2 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loop of
foundation ch, sc in next ch. (4)Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next sc, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc. (6)
Finish off in first BEAK HALF and not the second.
Rd 3: holding BEAK HALVES together and working through both thicknesses, ch 1, turn; sc in next 2 sc, 2 hdc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc.
Finish off leaving a long tail. Sew BEAK to BODY stuffing before closing.
EYES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With red, ch 2, 4 sc in
second ch from hook working around ch, slip st in first sc changing to
white. (4)Rd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first sc changing to black. (8)
Rd 3: Ch 1, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc changing to off white. (12)

Finish off leaving a long tail. Insert safety eyes. Sew EYES to BODY. Weave in ends.

WORK NEXT RW OVER FLORAL WIRE.
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (26)

Rws 6-9: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. (6)
