ZIRO THE PUP

This is a Pokemon-styled concept that an Etsy customer created and asked if I could create a plush of.  Of course, in tradition of our motto at Crochet Fanatic – “You dream it, we create it”, I brought his concept to life in plush.  This is the pattern for Ziro the Pup.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn:  Red, white, black, baby pink, gold, café latte, chocolate, and yellow.
B and E crochet hooks
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With red, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (27)
Rd 4: sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 3 times.  (31)
Rd 5: sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 4 times.  (36)
Rds 6-15: sc in each sc around.  (36)

Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (9)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

TOP OF MUZZLE:
Rd 1: With red, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 2 ch.  (7)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (9)  Change to white.
Rds 3-4: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around.  (9)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew TOP OF MUZZLE to INSIDE OF MOUTH.

BOTTOM OF MUZZLE:
Rd 1: With white, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch working around ch, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next 2 ch.  (7)
Rd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc.  (9)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew BOTTOM OF MUZZLE to INSIDE OF MOUTH.  Sew INSIDE OF MOUTHS together.  Sew MUZZLE to HEAD.

NOSE, EYES, EYEBROWS, AND UNDEREYE MARK:
Embroider NOSE, EYES, EYEBROWS and UNDEREYE MARK on HEAD of ZIRO THE PUP.

DONUT BODY:
Rd 1: With café latte and using B crochet hook, ch 12, slip st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, sc in each ch around.  (12)

Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rds 4-5: sc in each sc around.  (24)

Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew Rd 7 to free loops of foundation ch stuffing as you close DONUT BODY.  Weave in ends.

DONUT FROSTING:
Rd 1: With chocolate and B crochet hook, ch 12, slip st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, sc in each ch around.  (12)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rd 4: (skip next sc, dc in next 4 sc, skip next sc, slip st in next sc) around.
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew DONUT FROSTING to DONUT BODY.  Embroider sprinkles on DONUT FROSTING.  Tack stitch DONUT to MUZZLE.

Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next sc.  (2)
Rw 7: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog.  (1)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
OUTER EARS (MAKE 2):
